*Making Liquid Fertilizer: A 6-Step Guide*

1. *Collect Organic Material*: Gather plant-based waste like kitchen scraps, yard trimmings, and w**ds.

2. *Prepare Container*: Fill a 5-gallon bucket halfway with organic material.

3. *Add Water*: Cover the material with water (preferably rainwater). If using tap water, let it sit for a day to allow chlorine to evaporate.

4. *Ferment*: Seal the container, leaving it slightly ajar. Stir every few days to oxygenate. Fermentation takes 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on temperature and materials.

5. *Strain Liquid*: Once fermented, strain the liquid into another container, removing solid waste. This is your concentrated liquid fertilizer.

6. *Dilute and Apply*: Dilute the fertilizer with water (1:10 ratio) to prevent nutrient burn. Apply the solution directly to the soil around your plants.

*Benefits:*

- Eco-friendly: Recycles waste, reduces landfill use, and chemical runoff
- Cost-effective: Utilizes readily available materials, saving money on commercial fertilizers
- Nutrient-rich: Final product is full of essential nutrients

Uses Of Moringa plant and how to use it in Poultry Farming.

Moringa plant, also known as the drumstick tree, is a highly nutritious plant that can be used in various ways in poultry farming. Here are some of its uses and how to use it:

Feed supplement: Moringa leaves are rich in essential nutrients, including protein, vitamins, and minerals, that are beneficial to poultry health and productivity. You can dry the leaves and grind them into a powder, which can then be added to your poultry feed to supplement their nutrition.

Immune booster: Moringa leaves contain natural antioxidants, which help boost the immune system of poultry birds, making them more resistant to diseases and infections.

Antibacterial agent: Moringa leaves contain antibacterial compounds that can help prevent and control bacterial infections in poultry. Adding moringa powder to the feed can help reduce the incidence of diseases such as coccidiosis and salmonellosis.

Growth promoter: Moringa leaves also contain growth-promoting compounds, which can help improve the growth rate and weight gain of poultry birds, making them more marketable.

To use moringa in poultry farming, you can follow these steps:

Harvest fresh moringa leaves and wash them thoroughly.

Dry the leaves in the shade until they are dry and crisp.

Grind the dried leaves into a fine powder using a mortar and pestle or a grinder.

Mix the moringa powder into your poultry feed, at a ratio of 2-5% of the total feed, depending on the age and weight of the birds.

Store the moringa powder in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.

HOW TO START FARMING
The following are vital points to consider if you want to start farming:
1.Vision and Values
A farm is both an extension of the vision and values of the individual(s) who start(s) it, and it has to be carefully planned to make sure that it fits within that vision as well as within the particular confines of the place where it is established.

2. Place Matters
A farm should be close to your target market to reduce wasting time in transportation and also ensure there is adequate underground water or a stream in the area. In Malawi, certain areas have low underground water and others are well to do. So carry out a survey.

3.Planning
New farms need to have a well-designed business plan that takes into consideration individual infrastructure and financial needs, the viability of marketing strategies, and the farmer’s production capacity and knowledge.

4.Education and Experience
Mentorship, preparation, knowledge, and training are essential. But so is being able adapt quickly to the unexpected, to persevere when factors beyond one’s control conspire against you, and knowing how/when/what/where to expend time, energy, and resources.

5.Managing risk
It is helpful to plan careful to manage risk through diversification, financial management, and the ability to withstand a couple of bad years.

6.Start small
For most beginning farmers, we advise starting small to allow time for details to be worked out, for additional learning to occur, and to mitigate the size and scope of problems that will inevitably come

Those planting Soya Beans did you know that :
1. Extensive research disceminations revealed that you must get a potential yield of 50 kgs ( shelled ) from 1 kg seed planted..
2. That you get get this yield only if you: plant pure certified seed and not recycled seed and not even from your last year harvest.
3. That you can hit this potential yield only if you plant Cerified Seed that has been mixed and courted with Soya Beans Innoculant.
4. You need to be careful not to buy and use fake "Cerified Seed "and " Fake Innoculant " by buying from reputable Agri Inputs distributors.
5.Beans , Bambara Bambara nuts (Nzama) and g Ground nuts are all legumes. Use The appropriate Innoculants and Cerified Seed for optimum results this year
6. Seed Rate : Its the seed rate planted that determines how much you will yield if you use the above formulae of 1 kg planted equals 50 kgs yield.
Here its not the amount or hactrerage planted but the amount of seed planted..
7. For every 10 kgs wanted keep 2 kgs for refilling on planting stations that did not germinate.
Thus for every 12 kgs seed plant 10 kgs.and keep 2kgs for refilling on gaps in order to ensure optimum ant population.
8. TWO LINES . Plant two lines per ridge alternating the planting stations on the meaning planting stations on the two lines not being directive opposite . Two lines will also economise your land use and therefore reduce your costs on Labour and other costs.
9.Ridges must be made and properly supervised to ensure that they harvest rain water as it falls. ( chipwanyamsana ). In order for adequate soil moisture to be retained I the ridhe for r plant roots development and nutrients absorbent even on dry weathered days .
10. Supervision. Where possible supervise the ridge talking innoculant mixing and planting to ensure that the birth of your plants through termination is as you expect.
11. Keep the plants were free curing the first 4 to 6 weeks.
Wishing you all merry xmas
