ABOUT NGORA
The Non-Governmental Organizations Regulatory Authority (NGORA) is a statutory corporation mandated to register and regulate the operations of Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi. The institution plays a key role in strengthening accountability, compliance, and alignment of NGO activities with national development priorities.
JOB PURPOSE
To implement and manage monitoring and evaluation systems that track the alignment, effectiveness, and impact of NGO work towards national development.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Track non-registered NGOs and facilitate their registration
• Ensure NGO compliance with reporting requirements through MyNGO
• Monitor NGO work and prepare reports on progress, outcomes, and best practices
• Strengthen the capacity of DEC, NGOs, and local structures on MyNGO
• Empower ADCs and VDCs on NGO operations and reporting systems
• Receive and channel complaints regarding NGO work to relevant authorities
• Coordinate project-based MoUs between district councils and NGOs
• Maintain and analyze NGO databases and share findings with stakeholders
• Produce district NGO maps and advise councils on project allocation
• Support district councils with NGO data for policy and development planning
• Represent NGORA in district-level meetings related to NGO operations
• Conduct community capacity-building sessions on NGO databases
• Perform any other duties assigned relevant to the role
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, or related field from an NCHE-recognized institution
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience at officer level
• Strong planning and coordination skills
• Excellent analytical and data analysis skills
• Good communication and attention to detail
