Kindness Acts Campsites
Kindness Acts Campsites is looking for qualified, hardworking, and motivated individuals to join our team in the following positions: Chef, Waiter/Waitress, and Cleaner. Successful candidates will support the day-to-day operations of the campsite restaurant and hospitality services by ensuring high standards of food preparation, customer service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. The campsite is located in Khwawa, Karonga.
1.0 CHEF
Chef Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and serve meals for campsite guests in line with quality, hygiene, and nutritional standards
Develop menus suitable for campsite operations, including local and outdoor dining experiences
Ensure all meals are well-cooked, attractively presented, and served on time
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the kitchen and food preparation areas
Manage food inventory, storage, stock rotation, and distribution to avoid shortages and wastage
Monitor portion control and minimize food waste through efficient ingredient use
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Coordinate meal preparation for groups, events, and special campsite activities
Understand guest dietary preferences and special meal requirements
Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs promptly
Assist in budgeting, cost control, and procurement of food supplies
Perform administrative duties related to kitchen operations and stock records
Qualifications
Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Culinary Arts, or related field
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy kitchen or cafeteria environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently carry out any other duties assigned by management

2.0 WAITER/WAITRESS
Waiter/Waitress Responsibilities
Welcome and attend to campsite guests in a friendly and professional manner
Take food and beverage orders accurately and serve meals promptly
Ensure dining, outdoor seating, and serving areas are clean, organized, and comfortable for guests
Set up tables, buffets, camp dining stations, and service areas before meal times and events
Maintain high standards of customer service and hospitality
Assist guests with menu choices and respond to inquiries courteously
Support food and beverage service during campsite events, bonfires, and group activities
Ensure utensils, plates, glasses, and serving equipment are properly cleaned and arranged
Help monitor stock of serving items and report shortages when necessary
Work closely with the chef to ensure smooth and timely service delivery
Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all guest service areas
Carry out any other duties assigned by management
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality or a related field
Minimum of 1 year experience in a restaurant, lodge, hotel, or campsite environment
Good customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
Knowledge of hygiene and food handling standards will be an added advantage
3.0 CLEANERS
Cleaner Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize the restaurant, kitchen, outdoor dining spaces, washrooms, and surrounding campsite areas
Sweep, mop, dust, and maintain cleanliness of floors, furniture, windows, and common areas
Wash kitchen utensils, dishes, cookware, and serving equipment as required
Ensure waste is collected and disposed of properly to maintain a clean campsite environment
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of food preparation and storage areas
Refill cleaning and sanitation supplies when needed
Support compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards
Report maintenance issues, damages, or shortages of cleaning materials to management
Assist with cleaning before, during, and after campsite events and guest activities
Properly store cleaning equipment and chemicals after use
Ensure outdoor guest areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming at all times
Carry out any other duties assigned by management
Qualification and experience.
Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or sanitation services will be an added advantage
Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Hardworking, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision
Good communication and time management skills
Overall all interested candidates should have good Christian values and should be willing to relocate to Khwawa, Karonga.
