Ethnographic Research Assistants Needed!

The Institute of Public Opinion and Research (IPOR), in collaboration with the Governance and Local Development Institute (GLD) at the University of Gothenburg and Cornell University, is on the lookout for 8 ethnographic Research Assistants for an exciting project based in Malawi. These full-time positions will last for six weeks and will be located in various districts, including Balaka, Chikwawa, Chitipa, Dowa, Kasungu, Lilongwe, Mchinji, and Nkhata Bay.

Start date: Flexible, with an anticipated kickoff in March 2025

We are proud to have delivered the K20 Million Ziphuphu Njee 2023 Football & Netball Tournament for Zomba secondary schools. Fighting corruption is IPOR's passionate drive in supporting Malawi Government's efforts. Prize money was laboratory equipment to enhance science learning.

We are underway with the pre-match activities for the finals of the K20 Million IPOR supported Ziphuphu Njee 2023 Football and Netball Tournament for Zomba Urban and Rural secondary schools. IPOR collaborated with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), the Ministry of Education in the CSR activity.

We are conducting a 4-day training for the second phase of the Social Support for Resilient Livelihoods Project Experiment. IPOR is collaborating with C4ED to run this project on behalf of the World Bank. A total of 700 respondents from Lilongwe, Dedza, Nkhotakota, Nkhatabay, and Rumphi districts will be interviewed starting January 22.

We are conducting a one-day interviewers' refresher training for Cyclone Freddy project. We would like to follow up a few respondents who reported to have sustained injuries during Cyclone Freddy. This short follow-up study will help us to learn more about effects of Cyclone Freddy on study participants.
