05.22.2026_Reflection: PrEP4Teens Youth Ambassador Committee Showcase_I’ve had the honor of collaborating with the PrEP4Teens and TaskForce team as an artist and consultant, supporting program design, youth and community engagement, and connecting it all through public art, murals, and creative showcases.

The culminating showcase of an eight-week pilot program that I helped design with the support of staff, youth participants, and data-driven planning left me inspired by the possibilities that emerge at the intersection of youth leadership, public health, and the arts.

One of the moments I was most proud of was stepping back and watching the lead staff member for PrEP4Teens programming, Skai Underwood (TaskForce Prevention and Community Services Youth Engagement Specialist) shine. Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of coaching Skai in facilitation, program design and structure, and youth engagement. Watching her confidently lead and present at this showcase was a powerful reminder that, with patience, intention, and consistency, seeds truly bloom.
A huge shoutout to the Chicago Art Department for hosting this showcase, Leo Graphics Chicago LLC for printing the beautiful mini P4T mural that guests engaged with throughout the evening, and Glitter Guts Photography for capturing the event and making everyone look famous.

06.01.2026 _Proud to celebrate the unveiling of a new mural installation located at 12020 S. Indiana Ave. in the Roseland community of Chicago.

In partnership with the Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives (CNI), and with support from , intermediated by . I facilitate a series of conversations centered on racial healing with youth and community members. These conversations became the foundation for this 12’ x 8’ mural, designed and painted collaboratively with students and educators from CICS Prairie, including Nicholas P.

This project represents much more than a mural. Installed within a newly renovated space that will soon serve as an alternative to policing through youth-centered after-school programming, the artwork reflects the voices, experiences, and aspirations of the Roseland community.

The unveiling brought together youth participants, community members, and local leaders, including Tom McMahon, CNI Board Secretary, and Beale of the 9th Ward. One of the most meaningful moments was hearing young people share what this process meant to them and why they believe this artwork is important for their community.

As an artist and consultant, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue expanding my practice through youth engagement, community collaboration, and public art. From designing and facilitating the workshops to bringing community voices and ideas into creation. Art is a powerful tool for dialogue. It creates space for healing, preserves history, sparks awareness, and helps communities celebrate their identity, landmarks, and stories.

As I reflect on this journey, I’m incredibly proud of what we created together and excited for what comes next.

Reflection: I was invited by PrEP4Teens & Taskforce to collaborate on a workshop together at the Biomedical HIV summit on April 8–10th, downtown Chicago . After the conference I added the name tag 🏷️ to a collection of tags I have. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been in conference mode. Looking at the growing collection of name tags come with years of experiences, travel, connections and learned information from participating ( and some presenting ) numerous of workshops across the country. This was my 20s.. and I guess I saved it all because I knew I was being apart of spaces and dialogues that not so many people have access to (even though they should), so it felt like a privilege to respect. I’ve met many brilliant souls throughout my time at these types of events/garherings. Friends I still connect with when visiting other states. Colleagues I bounce ideas with and ask to be thought partners. Workshop topics and engagement strategies I still refer back to when creating my own. This was my 20s.. bleeding into my 30s. A beautiful living art piece each carrying many many memories. Appreciate P4T & Taskforce for the invite, we had a beautiful workshop.

I'm humbled to have been asked to update the community mural at Howard Brown ( ) on Sheridan clinic honoring trans leaders. This passion project, inspired by Howard Brown Health leaders like Terra Campbell, celebrates trans visibility. As Trans Visibility Day approaches, let's honor our living trans community leaders and recognize their contributions. Many names on this wall are those of friends and colleagues I've had the privilege to know. Many names together making a very powerful well and resilient community.
