Mexico telecommunications billionaire (US$94B) Carlos Slim tells Forbes Magazine he won't abandon his fixed-line quasi-monopoly in Mexico in spite of the fact it's no longer a money maker. Telmex, Slim says, no longer generates a profit due to massive retirement obligations to its workers. The company has one of the largest fiberoptics networks in Mexico and has been battling regulators who are blocking the sale of video streaming services to its customers.
