Quiero contarte algo importante.

Si alguna vez has sentido que sabes inglés pero al momento de hablar te congelas, tartamudeas o simplemente evitas la situación… no estás sol@.

La mayoría de las personas que me buscan para mejorar su inglés no tienen un problema de “falta de estudio”.

El problema es cómo hemos aprendido inglés: con libros de gramática, exámenes, listas interminables de reglas.

Simple English is risky: too direct, too cold. At B2, you gain *hedging* phrases — words that protect your message and protect relationships.

These phrases don’t just sound smarter. They create emotional space for disagreement without conflict.

👉 Try these when you want to disagree politely:

“I see your point, but I wonder if…”
“That’s one option; another could be…”
“I’m not sure I fully agree, because…”

The B1 Barrier to High-EQ Communication

When your English is too simple, you have two bad choices:
👉 Be very direct → and maybe sound rude.
👉 Stay quiet → and lose your chance to speak.

Both choices are stressful. Both choices are expensive.

Think about an investor reading your short email. It looks cold. It makes them doubt you. Doubt means less trust. And less trust means less business.

This is the *emotional tax* of B1 English: you feel nervous before you write, and you regret it after you send.

Reflection: Can you remember one short email you sent in English that felt too direct? How did you feel after?

📖 Mini Glossary
🚧 Barrier = A wall or block that stops you from moving forward. In business English, a “language barrier” is when limited English stops you from sharing your ideas clearly.
💡 High EQ = High Emotional Quotient. This means you understand feelings (yours and others’) and you use this to communicate with respect and confidence.
💸 Emotional tax = The stress or worry you “pay” when your English feels too simple. It’s the hidden cost of language that is not enough for leaders.
