Without warning María Fortunata had a social media crisis due to a TikTok influencer posting a negative review on the platform, affecting the reputation and perception of the brand, as the post unleashed a series of negative reactions in audiences —beyond those of the brand— across multiple platforms. including Google My Business and Tripadvisor. Moreover, since it is a restaurant startup, social media had been managed by the owner who had no experience neither in communications nor managing a crisis.

To mitigate the crisis we implemented a communications strategy to address all the negative comments the brand had been constantly receiving athwart multiple platforms, while working across different areas to rebuild the reputation and positive perception of the brand through feedback. We aligned the brand’s identity (conceptually, visually and verbally) and developed content accordingly in order to transmit the true identity of María Fortunata with an improved service.

Unexpectedly, Corajito had a budget reduction halfway through 2022 with an ongoing yearly digital campaign developed by their previous agency. With a mix of outdated content, indistinctly of the formats, through their social media accounts and a subculture centered campaign embodying people with different characteristics, promoting the practicality of the RTS coffee liqueur; the Mexican brand lost its ecosystem, leaving behind their nature, as it had not been yet positioned in the mind of final customers.

Although the studio had to continue with the ongoing campaign, as the content had already been developed and the investment done. A new creative rationale was developed, one where Corajito recovered its nature as a handcrafted, locally produced and fair trade cold brew coffee liqueur; broadening its scope beyond subcultures into its natural habitat ‘la sobremesa’ —a consumption moment deeply rooted within Mexican culture with Carajillo as the main cocktail— complemented by the practicality of their drink strategy, targeting final customers and the industry respectively. Thus, we designed and produced updated content developed according to the format with a more natural look and feel to transmit its essence.

At short notice, the Italian brand wanted to generate brand awareness for the International Vermouth Day, since Carpano Antica Fomula is the first vermouth in history. However vermouth is a growing category in our country, well known by the industry, but unfamiliar to Mexican customers who are unaware of certain international beverages. Although it is an essential liquid for classic cocktails many have tried, and these labels are within the best cocktail bars in Mexico City, the brand is not positioned yet among final customers.

Under the creative rationale where Carpano, the ingredient of the most iconic cocktails in the city, consumed by most of its inhabitants, is unknown to them, we developed the concept Rotta Il Primo Vermouth. A bar hopping with 5 classic cocktails crafted with the Italian vermouth by the most renowned bartenders from 5 of the best cocktail bars in Mexico City: Café Ocampo, Café de Nadie, Madre Roof, Brujas and Kaito. Therefore, generating brand awareness to media outlets whom would transmit the experience available to their audiences.

The new project created by the chef from Sinaloa, Alexander Suástegui and the bartender from Mexico City, Joseph Mortera, located in the up and coming Plaza Ocampo in the neighborhood La Juárez, in Mexico City, wanted to transmit her philosophy on gastronomy along with her unique inspiration and style through multiple communication channels.

Since ‘the ingredient is the protagonist for her’, the chef didn’t want to associate visually the space of the restaurant to the content, we created a visual concept for their social media that merges the northern essence of Costela with the urban location of the space.

Organically posted, without advertising, but with a public relations strategy behind, the photos were complemented by a differentiated tone of voice for a more casual and honest approach to media outlets and customers.
