With the goal of expanding opportunities for artisan communities living and working in Mexico, we offer consulting services that link artisans to enterprises and businesses abroad. We offer consulting services, photography, and design to businesses looking to work with artisans in Mexico as well as design and business consulting for artisan enterprises based in Mexico and internationally. During t
his time I made some very good connections with producers and became quite close to several different families and communities of artisans who work with in a variety of techniques and materials. I have first hand knowledge of the crafts, the nature of the labor and materials used, and have a real understanding of the challenges that the artisans as well as their clients face. To Summarize the skills and experience I offer:
• Many years experience navigating the cultural and business context in Mexico.
• In depth knowledge of artisan production in Oaxaca and Chiapas and direct connections to producers.
• Tools to smooth supply chain development as well as on the ground over-site capacity.
• A large network of connections expanding beyond artisan enterprises to museum stores, retail boutiques, and fairs and markets focused on fair trade and ethical sourcing.
• An eye for quality and detail and a true love of fine craftsmanship.
• An expansive sense of possibilities and optimistic attitude.
• Fluent spoken English, French and Spanish. My work is to connect businesses and individuals abroad with artisan enterprises here in Southern Mexico, acting as a cultural navigator and an ethical sourcing link for brands, designers, and craft import-export businesses operating in Europe, The United States, and beyond. My main focus is on social enterprise and solidarity markets: I look to work with people and businesses who care about the wellbeing of the artisans they employ, understand the concept of slow design and appreciate the nature of craft and the concept of solidarity. The other side of what I do is to support artisans living and crafting here in Southern Mexico by offering them greater access to markets and clients overseas. I do this in a number of ways and offer a variety of services, including but not limited to:
•Photographic documentation of workshop spaces, artisanal processes, exhibits and sales at markets and fairs, as well as staged product shots for use in developing promotional and marketing material.
• Branding and graphic design consulting including development of artisan portfolios and look-books.
• Training on how to create and manage a pagel as well as creating and managing an online store for sale of your handmade goods.
•Store interior design and spacial organization consulting.
•Connections to potential clients and sales venues in the United States and beyond. If you are interested in my services, I would be happy to speak with you further about your business ideas, goals and needs. You can contact me via email, phone, or by messaging me here on this page.
