If your best people are leaving…this is why.
I was hired by a company to find out why people were leaving them and the answer surprised everyone.
I decided to facilitate a goal setting session for one of my clients and the impact changed what many in the room believed before they walked in.
It was the first time their people were asked the right questions.
I was not brought in to talk about policies, perks, or compensation.
I was brought in to understand what was missing.
What we uncovered was not about workload.
It was not about benefits.
It was about purpose and alignment.
And it was about something even more human.
Leaders finally stopped to understand what season of life their best people are in, and how to gain momentum from that.
So if you are a business owner or leader, let me ask you this.
Have you actually set the stage for a successful year ahead?
One where your people stay, you make real progress, and the business finally moves forward?
This is not about a 40 page strategic plan that lives in a drawer.
This is about creating momentum.
Getting more clients.
And stopping the bleed of time and money that comes with constantly hiring and re hiring.
When leaders slow down and truly take the time to know their people, their goals, values, direction, and where they are in life, something powerful happens.
They begin to see how their own growth connects to the organization’s mission.
And when that alignment becomes clear, people do not leave.
They commit.
They contribute.
They stay.
Retention does not start with new policies.
It starts with people.
People first.
Keep the good ones.
To my clients, thank you for trusting me with your people and your culture.
I cannot wait to see what 2026 brings!
