Our European Trade Mission continued in Sweden! 🇸🇪🇲🇽

The Invest Monterrey delegation had the opportunity to meet companies and business organizations from multiple industries.

In Gothenburg, we visited Volvo Group’s Facility to continue strengthening our relationship with the company and follow up on its investment in Monterrey. We also discussed supplier development, operational needs, and other areas where Invest Monterrey has been supporting Volvo as part of our ongoing collaboration.

We also met with FKG – Vehicle Components Group, connecting with Sweden’s automotive supplier ecosystem, and later continued our agenda in Malmö with a group meeting with Business Sweden and Swedish companies looking to explore opportunities in the North American market, particularly in Mexico.

Our time in Sweden provided a valuable opportunity to deepen existing relationships while opening conversations with companies evaluating Mexico as part of their international growth strategy.

We have successfully concluded our “Doing Business in Mexico” seminar in Frankfurt. 🇲🇽🇩🇪

With the participation of Invest Monterrey’s members that are part of our European Trade Mission delegation, we brought together international executives to discuss the opportunities and key considerations for companies looking to establish or expand operations in Mexico.

Throughout the session, our delegation shared perspectives on Mexico’s industrial landscape, the USMCA and rules of origin, market-entry strategies, industrial relocation, operating costs, banking, legal structures, foreign trade programs, infrastructure and site selection.

More than presenting Mexico as an investment destination, the seminar provided companies with a comprehensive view of what it takes to successfully establish and grow an operation in North America.

Invest Monterrey at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026. 🇲🇽🇩🇪

As part of our European Trade Mission, Invest Monterrey spent two days at Automechanika Frankfurt alongside Chihuahua Global, connecting with companies and industry representatives from across the global automotive sector.

With more than 4,400 exhibitors from over 80 countries, the event brought together key players from across the automotive aftermarket and provided a valuable setting to exchange perspectives on market expansion, manufacturing, supply chains and opportunities in North America.

Our delegation also had the opportunity to explore the technologies and trends shaping the future of the industry, including electromobility, digitalization, artificial intelligence, autonomous mobility and sustainability.

We conclude our time at Automechanika with new business connections, industry insights and conversations that will continue beyond Frankfurt as our European Trade Mission moves forward.

Invest Monterrey officially kicks off its European Trade Mission. 🇩🇪🇸🇪🇩🇰

Over the next two weeks, the Invest Monterrey delegation will travel across Germany, Sweden and Denmark as part of an international business mission focused on strengthening Monterrey’s connections with European companies, industry leaders and business organizations.

Together with representatives from American Industries, Banco BASE, Citius AG, DIMSA, FINSA, Holland & Knight, Pérez-Llorca and SLYRSA, the mission will combine company meetings, industrial visits, specialized business seminars and participation in major international events.

The agenda includes stops at Automechanika Frankfurt and IAA TRANSPORTATION, as well as meetings focused on automotive, advanced manufacturing, mobility, logistics and industrial technology.

Throughout the mission, we will be presenting Monterrey as a strategic business destination for European companies looking to expand into Mexico and North America, while building new relationships and identifying opportunities for future investment and collaboration.

Foreign direct investment continues to reinforce Monterrey’s position as one of Mexico’s leading investment destinations. 🇲🇽📈

During the first half of 2026, the state attracted US$3.712 billion in FDI, ranking second nationwide and reaching its highest first-half level in the last 10 years.

The figures also reveal important trends behind this performance: Manufacturing Industries accounted for 56.8% of total FDI, the United States remained the leading source of investment, and new investments, intercompany accounts and reinvestment of earnings all recorded year-over-year growth.

Within manufacturing, industries such as transportation equipment, basic metals, machinery, electrical equipment and computer equipment stood out as the main recipients of foreign investment.

These results reflect the strength and diversification of Monterrey’s industrial ecosystem and its continued relevance for companies looking to invest and expand their operations in Mexico.

🏗️🌎 Invest Monterrey was pleased to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of JDP Intelligent Logistics Industrial Park in Monterrey, marking the beginning of construction of a new logistics development in one of our local strategic industrial corridors.

Developed by JINGDONG Property, the project will feature three Class A industrial buildings totaling more than 596,000 square feet, with infrastructure built to international standards and designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.

Strategically located along the highway to Laredo TX, the development will offer strong connectivity between the Monterrey metropolitan area and the U.S. border, supporting the growing logistics and manufacturing needs of companies operating across North America.

The start of this project represents another step forward in expanding Monterrey’s industrial and logistics capacity and strengthening the infrastructure that supports the city’s participation in North American and global supply chains.

Projects like JDP Intelligent Logistics Industrial Park continue to reinforce Monterrey’s position as a competitive destination for companies looking for strategic location, modern infrastructure, specialized talent, and direct access to international markets.

🚀In the first half of 2026, Monterrey attracted its highest Foreign Direct Investment Figure for a January–June period in the last 10 years.

With US$3.7 Billion in FDI, the region recorded a 22.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

This result reaffirms global companies’ confidence in Monterrey and strengthens its position as one of Mexico’s most competitive investment destinations—driven by a strong industrial base, specialized talent, an extensive supplier network, and strategic access to the United States.
