Essential Skills for People Managers — Embracing Differences at Work
It was definitely worth the extra effort to organize a public training session.
Over the past two days, I had the privilege of working with 14 participants from 3 very different organizations — a non-profit organization, a German-based MNC and a local listed company.
What made this session special was not just the content we covered. It was the learning that happened between the participants. They brought different industries, organizational cultures, experiences, perspectives, thinking styles and ways of working into the room. And through the discussions and activities, they had the opportunity to learn not only from me, but from one another.
This is something I strongly believe about People Management:
Leadership is not about making everyone think and work the same way. It is about learning to embrace differences and bring those differences together towards a common purpose.
Thank you to all 14 participants for your openness, sharing and great energy throughout the two days!
Different organizations. Different perspectives. One powerful learning experience.
