Celebrate the Mid-Autumn season with a month-long programme connecting creativity, culture and reunion at Ipoh Stables Market.

The celebration begins with three days of activities from 29–31 August 2026, featuring:

✨ Traditional and modern lantern making
✨ Arts, crafts and cultural experiences
✨ 3D printing showcase and games
✨ Tea culture sharing
✨ Music and brand activations

The opening weekend concludes with a relaxing evening of Music & Tea by Frankie Music on 31 August, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

Back in the 1960s, this gate was purchased from the United Kingdom and shipped by sea to Penang. From there, it travelled to Ipoh by railway before finally being towed to the club grounds.

But here’s something that makes it even more special. The gate still operates without hydraulic parts, relying on the original mechanical craftsmanship from its time.

It may look like just an entrance, but the gate itself carries more than 60 years of history.

So next time you visit Ipoh Stables Market, take a closer look at the main entrance. You’re not simply walking through a gate, you’re walking through a small piece of history that still lives on today.

马房入口的小小历史 ✨🐴

你有没有想过，每次来到怡保马场市集时，你所经过的这座大门背后，有着怎样的故事？

屹立在 Ipoh Stables Market 主入口的这座大门，已经拥有超过60年的历史。

早在1960年代，这座大门从英国购入，经过海运运抵槟城，再通过铁路运往怡保，之后最终被拖运至当时的俱乐部场地。

而最特别的是——这座大门至今仍然没有使用液压系统，而是依靠那个年代留下来的原始机械工艺运作至今。

它看起来或许只是一道普通的入口，但这座大门本身，却承载着超过60年的历史。

所以下一次来到怡保马场市集，不妨停下来仔细看看这座主入口。你走过的，不仅仅是一道大门——也是一小段至今仍然延续着的历史。

One of our visitors’ favorite discoveries here was these beautiful traditional handmade lanterns, each carefully crafted in unique designs from rabbits, unicorns, goldfish, to butterflies. Every piece reflects the creativity and passion of local artisans.

Other than lanterns, you'll also find adorable hand-crocheted keychains, painted wooden artworks, handmade crafts, and many other unique creations that make this place feel truly special.
