Macam mana nk pilih fyp yg terbaik..

As slm. Maaf sekiranya jarang update. Setelah bertemu berbincang dgn beberapa lecturer(politeknik) saya menyimpulkan bahawa terdapat beberapa perkara yg student perlu ambil tahu dan membuat kajian tentang fyp anda. Perkara tersebut antaranya adalah:

1) Peka dgn isu semasa.
I) Semperna kemasukan era industri 4.0, fyp perlu mempunyai teknologi iot atau setara dgnnya. Apakah dia industri 4.0? Dalam bahasa pasar semua barang nk di internet-kan dan boleh di-monitor atau di-control dari smart phone.

Contoh 1: fish feeder yg biasa bagi mkn ikan setiap 4 jam or 8 jam sekali di iot-kan menjadi fish yg boleh control by smart phone. Boleh set nk bagi mkn pukul brp mengikut kehendak user.

Contoh 2: home automation yg biasa ada orang kt rumah baru buka lampu automatic, owner masuk bilik baru buka air-cond automatic. Iot-kan system ni menjadi sblm user balik rumah, user boleh on-kan air-cond dari smart phone. So sblm sampai rumah bilik dh sejuk.

II) Pemilihan project berdasarkan priority katogeri. Berikut adalah katogeri yg paling utama hingga yg biasa: Medical, industrial, education, and general.
Medical: apa2 project yg boleh membantu memulihkan pesakit, atau apa2 project yg boleh monitor kesihatan pesakit. Contoh: blood pressure, heart rate monitor n bnyk lagi.
Industrial: ada bnyk sub-katogeri contohnya pertanian, keselamatan, n bnyk lagi lah.. aspek dlm industri yg perlu diambil kira adalah quality produk dan jimat cost/masa. Contoh: bahagian pertanian, project plant automation.
Education: dpt membantu pelajar2 lain memahami apa yg nk diajar. Contoh project: arduino trainer, plc trainer dan mcm2 lagi lah.

III) Pemilihan project jgk perlu berdasarkan MASALAH sekeliling and semasa. Contoh masalah semasa jerebu, buat lah project perkaitan jerebu atau setara dgnnya. Contoh project: air cleaner, Out door air monitor n lain2.

2) Special nya project anda.
Perbezaan antara project anda dgn produk yg sudah ada dipasaran. Project anda mestilah ada yg special yg xde kt produk lain tetapi yg special tu perluan advance atau membaiki kelemahan produk yg sedia ada. Contohnya skrg ada produk boleh control lampu dgn remote, kelemahannya remote senang hilang(sbb letak merata), kalau nk control pakai phone. smart phone mungkin tengah charge. Jadi anda membaiki kelemahan tu dgn menambah clap system.

Jika project anda memang tidak pernah diprodukkan, cari produk yg seakan2 sefungsi/lebih kurang dgnnya. Contoh project anda smart gate yg mana jika berlaku kebakaran akn unlock automatik. Jadi boleh dibezakan dgn fire alarm n gate controller.

3) Ada hubungan kait dgn yg anda belajar.
30%-50% dari apa yg anda belajar dapat di praktikkan dlm fyp anda. Buatlah project yg ada kaitan dgn jurusan anda atau ada hubung kait dgn anda atau paling tidak pun ada hubung kait dgn family anda. Kalau anda dari jabatan mekanikal buatlah project yg berkaitan. Contoh smart gate dan sebagainya. Jangan lah buat project account management. Atau yg ada hubung kait dgn family anda contoh family anda petani, buat project yg membantu pertanian family anda contoh project green house. Atau yg ada kaitan dgn mata pelajaran anda contoh Power Elektronik buatlah project seperti smart energy.

4) Bertanya pada tahu.
Jika anda merujuk kpd seorang xsalah tuliskan refer anda adalah orang tersebut. Jika rujukan anda adalah web site tertentu, tulis web site apa yg anda rujuk. Anda bukan dilahirkan dgn ilmu penuh didada, anda adalah pelajar, dan belajar perlukan rujukan. Tuliskan siapa rujukan anda jgn malu n jgn ego. Shere lah ilmu kpd kawan2 anda.

5) Pemahaman
Akhir sekali anda perlu faham fyp anda dari sesiapapun. Anda perlu tahu apa n knp anda pakai barang tersebut. Contoh anda perlukan sensor utk mengesan carbon monoxide, jadi apa sensor yg anda perlukan? Contoh MQ7. Then knp anda perlukan sensor MQ7 dari gas2 sensor yg lain? Kerana sensor MQ7 special utk mengesan carbon monoxide. So bila anda fhm senang utk anda memahamkan orang lain.

Akhir kata dari saya semoga fyp anda dpt membantu masyarakat terutama kita rakyat Malaysia. Kalau xdpt membantu orang lain pun sekurang2nya dpt membantu diri sendiri.
