📌 WHAT RUNNING WORKIFY TAUGHT ME #07: ABOUT COMPARISON

One thing I’ve noticed after meeting entrepreneurs, professionals, parents, and business owners through Workify is this:
We compare our everyday reality with someone else’s highlights.
And sometimes, we forget one important thing.
Many of the things we complain about today are the very things we once wished for.
The busy schedule? You chose to build something of your own.
The fixed working hours? You chose the stability that comes with it.
The sleepless nights with your children? You chose to build a family.
Every path comes with sacrifices.
Every choice comes with responsibilities.
There will always be moments when we wonder if another path would have been easier.
But perhaps the goal isn’t to chase someone else’s journey.
It’s to remember why we chose our own.
The destination matters.
But so does the journey.
So instead of constantly looking at someone else’s path, take a moment to appreciate how far you’ve already come.

One of my favourite parts of running Workify is listening to entrepreneurs share their ideas.

Many of them are good ideas.

I’ve realised that most entrepreneurs don’t have an idea problem.

They have a commitment problem.

It’s exciting to brainstorm.

It’s exciting to imagine what’s possible.

But building a business is rarely about finding the next brilliant idea.

It’s about choosing one idea, committing to it, and continuing even when the excitement fades.

Ideas create possibilities.

📌 WHAT RUNNING WORKIFY TAUGHT ME #04: ABOUT ENVIRONMENT

One thing I've noticed after running Workify is that many people are too hard on themselves.

They tell me:

"I just can't focus at home."

And often, they assume the problem is discipline.

But when we talk more, the reality is usually very different.

There's a baby crying.

A toddler knocking on the door.

Family members asking for help.

Household chores waiting in the background.

Some don't even have a proper desk to work from.

Yet they expect themselves to perform as if they're sitting in a quiet office with no interruptions.

Sometimes the problem isn't discipline.

It's the environment you're trying to work in.

The right environment doesn't magically make you productive.

But it removes enough distractions for you to focus on what matters.

Over the years, I've seen people complete in a few hours what they've been putting off for days—not because they suddenly became more disciplined, but because they finally had a space designed for work.

Before blaming yourself, take a moment to ask:

Is it really a discipline problem?

Or is it an environment problem?

📌 WHAT RUNNING WORKIFY TAUGHT ME #03: ABOUT PROGRESS

Sometimes I hear people say:

"I only managed to complete two things on my to-do list today."

And they leave feeling frustrated.

Feeling like they weren't productive enough.

But when we look closer, the story is often very different.

They replied customer enquiries.

They responded to supplier messages.

They answered emails.

They solved unexpected problems.

They handled interruptions that nobody planned for.

They supported their team.

They kept the business moving.

The challenge is that many of these tasks never made it onto the original to-do list.

So at the end of the day, we only focus on what remains unfinished.

And we forget everything we actually accomplished.

Not every productive task appears on a checklist.

Sometimes progress looks different from what we planned.

Before ending your day today, take a moment to ask yourself:

"What did I accomplish today that wasn't on my to-do list?"

One thing I often hear from entrepreneurs at Workify is:

"I'm so busy."

Their calendars are full.
Their to-do lists are endless.
Their days are packed from morning until night.

And somewhere along the way, many of us start believing that being busy means being productive.

But over the years, I've noticed something.

The entrepreneurs who make the most progress aren't necessarily the busiest.

They're the ones who regularly stop and ask:

"Is this task worth the value of my time?"

Because every "yes" to one thing is a "no" to something else.

A "yes" to another meeting may be a "no" to family dinner.
