Mama has been silent for awhile. Had been preoccupied with activities especially involved with my son.

My son has becoming more enthusiastic in joining competitions such as public speaking and colouring. He has a target to collect 100 finisher running medals. Which he achieved last month.

While supporting my son, I discovered I got nominated for Wanita Ikon Wilayah Persekutuan. I went through a few rounds of shortlisting over 2 months before I was invited to attend today's event.

I am honoured to receive Wanita Ikon Inspirasi Wilayah Persekutuan 2026 /2027 .

During my speech, I couldn't help thinking of all the mothers who plays a strong influence in my life. Some no longer in contact but remains strong in my heart.

This award is not about me ; it's the motherly legacy of Compassion, Empathy, Kindness especially Love who encouraged me to keep on going during my family crisis with Patrick earlier. Because of these influence, I feel motivated and inspired to especially support mothers whose children have unique circumstances such as medically and/ differently-abled.

This award is dedicated to all these amazing and beautiful mothers.

Because of you, you gave me inspiration, momentum and empowerment to do something more than as a bystander.

Today, The Rebel & A Mama attended a workshop by ADLA Group Sdn Bhd that became far more than career and financial mastery.

It became a reminder that awareness is where change begins.

Through reflection, journaling, and honest conversations, we were reminded that our stories, our struggles, and our second chances carry power.

At The Spunky, The Rebel & A Mama , we believe our lived experiences are not meant to stay hidden.

They are meant to create hope, spark empowerment, build changemakers, and help liberate others who may still be finding their way.

Because when we share our truth, we do more than heal ourselves.
We become light for others.

Awareness. Empowerment. Changemakers. Liberators.

Today reminded us: Our journeys are bigger than us.
And perhaps that is where true transformation begins.

My story is featured in today’s The Star newspaper on page 8.

Ten years ago, I was involved in a gas explosion. A life-changing moment that deeply affected not only me, but also my family.

Having walked this journey, I understand the pain and challenges that burn survivors go through, especially during the initial stages of recovery. That is why, together with my fellow survivors, we want to help build a Burn Survivor Support Society in Malaysia.

I know this journey will not be easy, but anything truly meaningful never is.

Ten years ago, a moment changed everything.
A few days ago, I witnessed what it means to choose life… again and again.

I attended Eileyn’s 10-year burnaversary and the soft launch of her book, When an Explosion Knocks You Down 🤍

It has been 10 years—not just of surviving, but of choosing to live, every single day.

That day, I shared something that stayed with me as I was reading her book. Sometimes, when we are deep in our own struggles, we feel alone. We think we understand what others are going through based on what we see or what we think we know. But this book gently shifts that perspective.

Eileyn opens a window into the lives of others—survivors of all kinds, caregivers, and hospital staff—reminding us that even if our experiences are different, the emotions are often more similar than we realise.

Reading her book made me pause and reflect on the things I often take for granted—the ability to move, to breathe, to feel, and to love.

And one reminder stayed with me deeply: hope is not something far away. It is something we can return to, again and again.

That day was not just about celebrating her journey. It became a quiet reminder of our own.

From the Spunky:-

I decided to celebrate my 10th burn anniversary at PARC, Subang on 4 April 2026, as I was already in Kuala Lumpur. It also happened to fall over the Easter weekend.

While many in the Chinese community tend to avoid the number 4, I chose to embrace it and move forward with a “Celebration of Life” theme, marking this meaningful milestone with family and friends—because ten years ago, I nearly lost my life, and today, simply being alive is something I deeply celebrate.

As I hadn’t had a formal launch for my book, I also took the opportunity to celebrate both occasions at once.

Overall, it was a wonderful success, and I am especially grateful for the chance to reconnect with people I had lost touch with over the years.
