New Zealand recently announced that parental leave payments will increase by 6.33% from 1 July 2022 under its Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987. This means that the maximum weekly rate for eligible employees and self-employed parents will rise from $621.76 to $661.12.

OS HRS recently donated 52 refurbished computers to several schools serving underprivileged children across the Klang Valley. The recipients of these desktops include Dignity for Children Foundation and Viva Starfish Project, among others. This initiative is aimed at empowering students through technology in the classroom. OS HRS believes that all children, regardless of their background, should be afforded the opportunities of a good education. Through the donation of the computers, OS HRS hopes to enhance the learning experience of these students with the aid of technology and digital devices.

“The COVID-19 pandemic really put to the forefront that without technology, one can easily be left behind," said Shawn Suresh, CEO of OS HRS. 1. Active Listening: HR is a people-first function, active listening and being able to coach and guide their colleagues is important for HR to fulfil its role

2. People Management: HR works directly with colleagues from all levels of the organisation. People management skills allows HR to navigate different personalities and cultures, especially in a global organisation

3. Conflict Management: No doubt that with different personalities working together, there will be potential for conflict. Those skilled in conflict management are highly sought after in HR

4. Tech Savvy: With advancements in HR technology, being able to not only apply technology but also embrace innovations in cloud and data could really push the HR function to new heights

Effective 4 June 2022, several regions in the Philippines have implemented new minimum wage rates. 14 regional wage boards have issued their respective wage orders, introducing pay increases ranging between PHP30 and PHP110. The wage increases will be paid out in two tranches – the first of which took place as of 4th June, and another tranche 6 months after.
