🌟 How the IMT-GT Regional Business Excellence Awards (RBEA) Advance IMT-GT Vision 2036 & the Implementation Blueprint 2022–2026

Strengthening Regional Integration Through Private Sector Leadership

As Southeast Asia moves toward a more connected, competitive, and sustainable future, the IMT-GT Regional Business Excellence Awards (RBEA) plays a pivotal role in driving the ambitions of the IMT-GT Vision 2036 and the Implementation Blueprint (IB) 2022–2026.

Far more than an award ceremony, RBEA is a strategic enabler—mobilising the private sector to lead innovation, sustainability, and cross-border collaboration across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

🔹 1. Catalysing Private-Sector–Led Growth (Core Pillar of Vision 2036)
IMT-GT Vision 2036 places the private sector at the heart of regional economic development.
RBEA reinforces this by:
➡️ Recognising high-performing companies across diverse sectors
➡️Encouraging firms to adopt global standards
➡️Motivating businesses to invest in innovation, sustainability, and digitalisation

This directly fuels IMT-GT’s aim to build a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and outward-looking subregion.

🔹 2. Advancing the Sustainability Agenda (IB 2022–2026 Priority Theme)
The awards highlight companies leading in:
🌱 Environmental stewardship
🔋 Clean energy and green transition
♻️ Circular economy
🏙️ Sustainable urban development

By celebrating sustainability champions, RBEA accelerates the region’s shift toward low-carbon, climate-resilient growth, aligned with the Green City Action Plan (GCAP) and SUDF frameworks.

🔹 3. Strengthening Connectivity & Trade Integration
Winners represent key sectors driving IMT-GT’s connectivity pillars:
✈️ logistics
🚚 supply chain
🌍 cross-border digital and infrastructure solutions

These sectors are instrumental in advancing the connectivity targets outlined in the IB 2022–2026, ensuring smoother movement of people, goods, and ideas across the subregion.

🔹 4. Empowering Innovation & Digital Transformation
RBEA recognises companies that are reshaping industries through:
💡 digital innovation
📊 data-driven solutions
🤖 automation and advanced technology

This supports IMT-GT's mission to build a future-ready digital economy and foster innovative ecosystems.

📢 Advancing Regional Connectivity Through IMT-GT Economic Corridors

📝 JBC Joins National Familiarisation Workshop in Putrajaya

The IMT-GT Joint Business Council (JBC) is pleased to participate in the National Workshop on the Familiarisation of IMT-GT Economic Corridors, organised by Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) and the Ministry of Economy Malaysia on 24 November 2025.

This workshop is part of a nationwide effort to strengthen understanding of IMT-GT’s corridor-based development, a core strategy under the IMT-GT Vision 2036 and Implementation Blueprint 2022–2026. It brings together federal agencies, regional authorities, and industry players to identify priority development areas and early-harvest initiatives for collaboration that can strengthen connectivity, trade, and investment opportunities within the IMT-GT subregion.

Among the objectives is to develop practical steps and action plans for the identified initiatives, with the aim of presenting them through the IMT-GT Chief Ministers’ and Governors’ Forum (CMGF).

For JBC, this platform is essential to advancing private sector–led growth, promoting cross-border trade and investment, and ensuring Malaysia’s corridors remain competitive and well-connected to Thailand and Indonesia.

We look forward to contributing industry perspectives and supporting stronger collaboration across all IMT-GT corridors.
