We don’t just learn how to manage money. We also learn how to feel about it.💚💰

In psychology, financial socialisation describes how we develop money beliefs and behaviours through our family, upbringing and environment.

If you grew up watching your parents struggle financially, you might have learned that earning money requires struggle and sacrifice. If spending was criticised, you might feel guilty buying something for yourself. If financial mistakes were met with shame, you might avoid taking risks or making financial decisions altogether.

Over time, these learned responses can become so familiar that we mistake them for the way things are.

And they don’t just influence how we spend and save. They may also affect how we value our work, negotiate our worth and pursue opportunities to earn more.

Of course, financial struggles aren’t simply a matter of mindset. Our circumstances and access to opportunities matter, too. But it’s worth examining the beliefs we bring to our financial decisions.

Ask yourself:

💭 What did I learn about money growing up?
💭 Do I associate spending with danger, saving with safety, or financial mistakes with shame?
💭 Do I believe earning more means having to work harder and sacrifice more?

You don’t need to blame your parents or trace everything back to ancestral trauma to begin understanding your relationship with money.💰

Just because you learned to relate to money in a certain way doesn’t mean you have to keep doing so.

Awareness is the first step. From there, you can begin questioning old beliefs and practising new ways of responding.

BING WU 2026: GROWTH DOESN'T ALWAYS FEEL GOOD

But here's the other side of it: discomfort doesn't always mean you're growing, either.

This is something I think more people need to understand, especially in business.

We're so used to seeing success presented as an exciting journey.

More revenue. More followers. More clients. More opportunities.

Everything looks like it's moving forward.

But real growth doesn't always feel that way.

Sometimes, growth means realising your current skills are no longer enough.

Sometimes, it means admitting your business model isn't working.

Sometimes, it means having difficult conversations, making decisions you don't want to make, or letting go of something you've invested years building.

And sometimes, it means being a beginner again.

None of these necessarily feels good. But they may be exactly what you need to move forward.

Here's where we need to be careful, though.

Just because something feels difficult doesn't automatically make it valuable.

Struggling for years doesn't mean you're on the right path.

Being exhausted doesn't mean you're making progress.

And feeling challenged by a coach, mentor or programme doesn't automatically mean you're experiencing a breakthrough.

Sometimes, discomfort comes from learning.

Sometimes, it comes from doing something that no longer serves you.

And sometimes, it comes from being pushed into someone else's idea of success.

So how do you tell the difference?

Look beyond how you feel in the moment.

- Are you developing skills you can actually use?
- Are you becoming more capable of making your own decisions?
- Are you seeing meaningful progress, even if it's slower than you hoped?
- Are you building something sustainable, or simply getting better at tolerating an unhealthy situation?

These are better questions than simply asking whether the journey feels good.

In a year like Bing Wu 2026, where attention, ambition and the desire for quick results can become overwhelming, this distinction matters.

Don't measure growth only by how exciting it feels. Don't measure progress only by how much pain you can endure.

Measure it by what is genuinely changing — in your abilities, your decisions and the results you build over time.

The goal isn't to feel good every day.

And it isn't to suffer just to prove you're serious.

It's to know what you're building, why you're building it, and whether the process is actually taking you somewhere worth going.

Sometimes, growth asks you to push harder.

Sometimes, it asks you to change direction.

The real skill is knowing which one the situation calls for.

BING WU 2026: WHEN MARKETING SELLS YOU A DREAM

Let me say something that might offend a few people in the branding and marketing industry.

This year, it feels like everyone is a guru.

Everyone seems to have a formula to make you 6–7 figures, 10x your followers, build a personal brand or scale your business.

The promises are attractive. The results look impressive. And the sales pitch often knows exactly where to hit.

Your desire for more money.
Your fear of falling behind.
Your insecurity about where you are in life or business.

And before you know it, you're wondering whether you're missing out if you don't buy in.

I know, because I've been there.

I've invested five figures to learn some of these lessons myself. And it made me look at marketing very differently.

Marketing isn't the problem. But what are you actually being sold?

Good marketing identifies a real problem and shows you how a product or service can help solve it.

That's fair. That's business.

But there's a difference between helping someone recognise a problem and making them feel ashamed of themselves so they'll buy your solution.

There's a difference between empowering people to grow and convincing them they're not good enough without your method.

And there's a difference between building a community that helps people move forward and building one that keeps people dependent on constant validation.

Here's the uncomfortable truth:

You can make a lot of money selling people the feeling of being understood — without necessarily helping them change their lives.

People may feel seen. They may feel empowered. They may feel like they've finally found their people.

But are they becoming more capable of making decisions, solving problems and standing on their own?

Or are they becoming more dependent on the person selling them the answers?

In BaZi, Bing Wu carries an intense Fire quality. Fire brings visibility, attention and recognition. But when the Fire becomes too strong, it can blind us.

We become so attracted to what shines that we forget to examine what is actually there.

And this isn't just a lesson for business owners or marketers.

It's a lesson for anyone spending money to improve their life.

When you're desperate for growth, you may mistake confidence for competence.

When you're afraid of being left behind, you may mistake urgency for opportunity.

When someone tells you exactly what you want to hear, you may mistake agreement for wisdom.

Sometimes, the most expensive lesson isn't the money you lose.

It's realising how easily your own desires can be used to influence your decisions.

So before you buy that course, hire that branding consultant or follow that business mentor, ask yourself:

- What exactly are they selling me?
- Can I see evidence beyond testimonials and revenue screenshots?
- What skills or capabilities will I actually gain?
- Will this help me become more independent, or more dependent on them?
- Am I buying a real solution, or simply buying relief from the discomfort of where I am right now?

I'm not saying every expensive programme is bad, or that every person making big promises is dishonest.

I'm saying we need to learn how to discern.

Because in a world where everyone is competing for attention, knowing how to sell is valuable.

But knowing what is worth buying is just as important.

Stress Is Real. But It Doesn't Have to Become Your Behaviour.

A lesson for Bing Wu , 2026

Something interesting happened this morning.

My mum looked at me and asked, “Are you stressed?”

I said yes.

“Work stress?”

Yes, again.

It's that time of the year. There's a lot at stake for next year. After a year of trying to create breakthroughs, going through ups and downs, it's now time to review what hasn't worked, rethink our strategies, and decide what we want to bring forward.

Then my mum said something that made me pause.

She told me she hadn't noticed I was stressed because I was still happy, laughing and living life as usual. I wasn't screaming or shouting at people.

And I told her, those are two separate things.

I can be stressed about work and still enjoy my life.

I can feel the pressure of my responsibilities without taking it out on the people around me.

I can be going through a difficult time internally without making it everyone else's problem.

Does that mean I'm not stressed? Of course not.

Stress isn't always bad. Sometimes, it motivates us to move, make decisions and find better ways forward.

But here's where I think we need to be more aware of ourselves.

Just because we're stressed doesn't mean the people around us deserve our frustration.

It doesn't mean we get to scream at others, become disrespectful, or make decisions we later regret simply because we're having a difficult time.

Stress explains what we're experiencing. But it doesn't automatically justify how we behave.

And this is where one of the most overlooked tools comes in.

Mindfulness. Awareness. Nervous system regulation.

Have you ever noticed how, when you're overwhelmed, even the smallest things can irritate you?

Someone asks you a simple question, and you snap.

Someone makes a small mistake, and you lose your patience.

You react first, and only afterwards realise that your response was bigger than the situation called for.

Sometimes, we're so caught up in what is happening around us that we don't even notice what's happening within us.

We repeat patterns without realising it.

Until we stop and become aware.

This is why, when a client tells me they're stressed, I don't immediately tell them to focus harder, think positively or get more things done.

First, we work on grounding.

We start with breathing. We bring awareness back to the body. We create a little space between what we're feeling and what we're about to do.

Then we work towards focus and calmness.

Because you can't always think your way into focus when your body is still struggling to settle.

Sometimes, before you can solve the problem, you need to regulate enough to approach it differently.

And that's the work.

Not eliminating stress.

Not pretending everything is fine.

Not forcing yourself to be calm all the time.

But learning to recognise what's happening, interrupt an unhelpful pattern, and choose how you respond.

You may not be able to control everything happening at work, in your business or in your life.

But you can learn not to let every external pressure dictate your internal state, your decisions, and how you treat others.

The goal isn't to never feel stressed. It's to stop stress from taking over how you live and how you show up in the world.

And that is why awareness matters.

Because you cannot interrupt a pattern you don't recognise.

And you cannot change a response you don't even realise you're repeating.

Sometimes, the real work isn't about doing more.

It's about learning to respond differently to what life is asking of you.

Being good at something doesn’t mean you should have to do it all the time.

You may be capable of taking charge, solving problems and managing difficult situations. But if these are the only responses you allow yourself, capability can become a constraint.

Through the lens of Yin and Yang☯️, we can examine whether we have become overly reliant on one mode of operating at the expense of another.

The Hyper-Yang Trap is not about being too strong or too ambitious. It is about becoming so accustomed to doing, controlling and pushing forward that slowing down, receiving support or allowing uncertainty becomes difficult.

Self-mastery is not about maximising one quality. It is about developing the flexibility to respond to different situations without being confined to a single way of being.⚖️

Which do you find more difficult: doing less or allowing yourself to receive more?

“Just go with the flow. Whatever happens, happens.”🐠

While there’s truth in this, we also need the wisdom to know when to go with the flow and when to take action.

Going with the flow can easily be mistaken for surrender. But sometimes, what we call surrender is really just avoidance in disguise.

We leave things to fate, avoid making difficult decisions, and hope life will somehow work itself out. And if it doesn’t? We conveniently blame a higher power.

True surrender asks something different of us.

It asks us to take responsibility for our choices, do the best we can, and accept that we cannot control every outcome.

We can make plans without knowing exactly how things will unfold. We can take action without having all the answers. And we can trust life without leaving everything to chance.

Do your part. Let go of what isn’t yours to control.

That’s not passivity. That’s surrender.

💙 Save this post as a reminder to take responsibility for what you can change and release what you cannot.

Sometimes your spending habits aren’t as fixed as you think.

When you feel financially secure, you may make very different financial decisions than when you’re afraid of not having enough.

The question isn’t always, “Why am I so bad with money?” 💸

Sometimes, it’s “How would spending this money make me feel?”

The next time before you spend, pause and ask yourself this question.

Hey guys, it’s Esther here. Long post alert.

I’ve been looking back at our content recently, and I realised that we’ve really slowed down on the more technical BaZi and Chinese Metaphysics posts over the past few months.

And honestly, it’s not because we’ve stopped doing the work.

Till today, BaZi and the Five Elements remain some of our fundamental tools when we work with clients and students.

But something has changed.

The way we consume and create information today is very different from what it used to be. Social media is no longer just about what you know.

And increasingly, a lot of what we see online can be generated within seconds.

The information is there.

But, the human touch, emotion, experience and energy behind that information are missing. And it was precisely what I have talked about in my earlier career class this year - 'HUMAN'

I was reminded of this recently when I met someone who had zero BaZi knowledge — yet managed to build a BaZi-generating App. And he's not even a programmer too. And honestly? I thought it was genius.

But at the same time, it made me wonder:

Where does the line go?

Because today, you don’t necessarily need years of technical knowledge to build something that can look like it knows.

AI has made it possible to access information, generate interpretations, build tools and produce results at an incredible speed.

And I’ve benefited from it too.

AI has helped me solve so many things this year.

But it has also challenged me to think about something much deeper:

What happens to our integrity when the result becomes easier to obtain than the process of learning?

If you can get the answer without doing the work…

Would you?

If you can appear knowledgeable without becoming knowledgeable…

Would you?

It’s almost like saying:

“I am enlightened and wise because I read a summary of Confucius generated by AI.” 🤖

You may have the information.
- But have you actually understood it?
- Have you experienced it?
- Have you tested it against life?
- Have you embodied it?

Because knowledge and wisdom are not the same thing. In some way or another, I'm glad my journey started before all these chaos. Otherwise, it will be a challenge to say no to all the quick instant gratification answers..

And perhaps this is one of the deeper lessons of this Bing Wu year for me (perhaps for you too)

The peak of Fire brings visibility, speed, exposure and amplification.

Everything becomes faster. More visible.
More accessible. Which is great BTW.

But, when everything is illuminated by Fire, what has been hidden also gets exposed.

Including our relationship with integrity.
Our desire for shortcuts. Our willingness to take the result without doing the work.

Our ability — or inability — to discern what is real, useful and meaningful.

In Metaphysics, Water as carrying qualities of depth, reflection, adaptability and wisdom.

And in a year where the Water absent from the year bazi chart, the real challenge happens in failing to ask the right question and reflect with wisdom..

- Where am I consuming information without actually processing it?
- Where am I outsourcing my own judgement?
- Where am I choosing convenience over understanding?

As we wrap up this year, perhaps that’s something worth observing.

Are we becoming so consumed by speed, visibility and instant answers…

that we are losing the ability to sit with uncertainty, think deeply and develop our own discernment? Which honestly is pretty sad to see...

For those of us who practise Bazi, Chinese Metaphysics, healing, coaching, teaching — or any field where people place their trust in our work —

I think this is an important time to open our eyes and to stay on track.

Keep learning. Keep practising. Keep questioning. Keep the human trait. Be curious. Be OK with the unknown.

And most importantly, believe in the integrity of your own work.

Because today, so-called “wisdom” can be obtained from a few conversations with AI.

But embodiment is expensive.

It costs time.

Experience.

Mistakes.

Reflection.

Discipline.

And the willingness to actually live what you claim to know.

So to all our followers, students and clients:

Be discerning.

Use the tools.

Learn from them.

But don’t hand over your own judgement to them.

Listen to your inner guide.

Develop your own wisdom.

Don’t just follow the sheep. 🐑

Know why you’re walking in the direction you’re walking.
