Does an internal staircase facing the main door really push your wealth away?

This is a common Feng Shui concern — but the answer is not necessarily.

When assessing a staircase facing the main entrance, we need to consider its size, position, distance from the door, and importantly, the external environment outside the entrance.

When these conditions work well together, a staircase facing the main door may not be negative at all.
In some situations, it can even be beneficial.

This is why Feng Shui should never be judged based on one feature alone. The overall environment and how different features interact with one another matter much more.

Many people work very hard.

Many people think Feng Shui is simply about activating the “wealth sector.”

Business not doing well?
Activate wealth.
Sales slowing down?
Activate wealth again.

But real Feng Shui is not that simple.

Many years ago, an entrepreneur approached me to audit his office. Another Feng Shui master had previously placed him in the so-called “wealth sector,” hoping to improve his business performance.
However, after studying the office layout, business operations, and actual situation carefully, I realised the real issue was not “wealth.”
The real problem was lack of support.
There were internal politics, coordination problems, project obstacles, delays, and weak support from both staff and external parties. The business could not move smoothly.
So instead of continuously focusing on “wealth activation,” I adjusted the office positioning, internal layout, support sectors, communication flow, and management alignment.

A few months later, he thanked me.
Projects started moving more smoothly.
Support improved.
Operations became more stable.
And naturally, business performance improved as well.

This is something many people misunderstand about Feng Shui.
Sometimes the issue is not money itself.
The issue is what is preventing the business from functioning properly in the first place.
That is why Feng Shui audits should never be template-based.

Why did everyone avoid this director room?

Many years ago, I was engaged to conduct a Feng Shui audit for the office of a director from an international MNC overseas.
He had just been promoted and relocated to a new office building. He was free to choose whichever office room he wanted.
But there was one room that almost nobody wanted.

Why?
Because several previous directors who occupied that room could not last more than a year. Some resigned, while others were asked to leave.
As a result, the room developed a reputation for having “bad Feng Shui.”
One of the reasons often mentioned was that the room was surrounded almost entirely by glass walls, with very little solid cement wall support.
Many people immediately concluded:
“There is no support.”
But Feng Shui should never be reduced to isolated observations, taboos, or assumptions.

Instead of focusing on one feature, I studied:
• The external environment
• Roads and junctions
• Surrounding Qi flow
• The internal office layout
• How the room aligned with the overall office structure
• The director's personal BaZi structure
After analysing the entire situation, I actually advised him to remain in that same room, with several strategic adjustments to the layout and positioning.

What happened afterwards?
Things became very smooth for him.
Over the years, he received multiple promotions and eventually became a Senior Regional General Manager.

This is why real Feng Shui is not about applying isolated rules or following popular taboos.
Good Feng Shui requires understanding the bigger structure, context, environment, and how a space truly supports the person using it.

Why do some businesses work extremely hard, yet growth always feels slower than expected?

Many people immediately look at:
• sales,
• marketing,
• pricing,
• competition,
• or the economy.

And while these factors certainly matter, they may not always be the whole story.

Over the years, I have observed businesses where:
• Projects moved slower than expected
• Decisions took longer to materialise
• Internal communication became less effective
• Support from staff or external parties weakened
• Office politics increased
• Opportunities failed to convert into actual results

In some cases, the issue was not the business strategy itself.
The issue was that the property was not supporting the business.

In Feng Shui, I often refer to this as the "body" of the property.
Before applying formulas, activating sectors, or enhancing wealth stars, the foundation of the property must first be healthy and strong.
If the Qi flow is disrupted, conflicting, or working against the surrounding environment, even good Feng Shui formulas may produce limited results.
Sometimes the issue is not the formula.
Sometimes the issue is the property itself.

"Why did that person get promoted instead of me?"

It's a question I've heard many times during BaZi consultations.

The person is capable.
Works hard.
Delivers results.
Yet promotions keep going to someone else.

Many people assume that career success is purely based on capability.
Unfortunately, the workplace doesn't always work that way.

Over the years, I've seen highly capable individuals struggle because they misunderstood what was required for advancement.

Some lacked visibility.
Some lacked support from key decision-makers.
Some were excellent executors but were being evaluated on leadership qualities.
Others were playing the wrong role altogether.

I remember one client who was highly capable but constantly overlooked because his boss simply didn't appreciate his contributions.
After analysing his BaZi chart, I realised the issue wasn't capability.
The issue was visibility.
I advised him to strategically make his work more visible to higher management.
Several months later, he received the promotion he had been waiting for.
This is one reason why I find BaZi so valuable.

BaZi is not just about identifying strengths.
It helps us understand how we operate, how we are perceived, what type of support we need, and how to position ourselves more effectively in our careers.

Sometimes the problem is not a lack of capability.
Sometimes the problem is that the right people don't see it.

Buying the wrong property can cost far more than a Feng Shui consultation.

Many property buyers spend months researching:
✔ Location
✔ Developer reputation
✔ Layout design
✔ Facilities
✔ Pricing and rebates

But one of the most expensive mistakes is assuming that Feng Shui can always be fixed after purchase.
The reality is:
You can renovate the interior.
You can move furniture.
You can redesign certain spaces.
But you cannot easily change:
• The surrounding roads
• The neighbouring buildings
• The external landform
• The Qi flow
• The external environment supporting the property

Over the past 20+ years, I have seen many buyers discover Feng Shui issues only after they have purchased the property.
By then, the options available are often far more limited.
This is why I always tell clients:
It is usually easier to choose the right property than to fix the wrong one.
A good Feng Shui property is not just about the unit itself.
It is also about the environment surrounding it and how the property receives and interacts with Qi.
Before making one of the biggest financial commitments of your life, it may be worth understanding what cannot be changed after purchase.
