“I was cheated.”
Those were the first words a sad client told me when I asked why he never bought insurance again.
Curious, I asked him what had happened.
He explained that years ago, he expected his agent to pay the first 3 months’ premiums. When the agent refused, the policy eventually lapsed.
As I listened, I realized something important:
Sometimes, what we call “being cheated” is actually a misunderstanding of responsibility.
An insurance agent’s role is to advise, guide, and provide service.
The responsibility of maintaining premium payments belongs to the policyholder.
A simple question changed the conversation:
When you buy a car, a house, or a phone, do you expect the salesperson to pay your monthly installments?
Insurance is no different.
Before blaming the industry, it is important to understand the commitment that comes with every policy.
Financial protection begins with financial responsibility.
