AMCC recently hosted its 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel KL on the 24th September 2024. The AGM featured a keynote address by YB Hairil Yahri Yaacob, Secretary-General of MITI, opening speech by His Excellency Dr. Adel Mohammad Ali Ba Hamid (Yemen Ambassador), and welcome speech by Dato’ Ahmad Shukri, President of Arab Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Berhad.

Also present were the Excellencies Ambassadors and Diplomatics from Arab Countries, Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, MIDA CEO, Datuk Muhammad Azmi Zulkifli, InvestKL CEO, valued members and guests. This event signified a crucial step in enhancing economic and trade relations between Malaysia and Arab nations.

There were also signing of MOU that took place between Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd and Alami Commodities Sdn Bhd for their joint venture (JV) — KLK Alami Edible Oils Sdn Bhd (KAEO) — to manufacture, sell and market palm oil and specialty fats. The ceremony to formalise the MOU was witnessed by MITI's Secretary-General, YB Hairil Yahri Yaakob and the Dean of the Arab, His Excellency Dr. Adel Mohammad Ali Ba Hamid.

Informative discussions and presentations by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, Dr. Issa Faye, the Director General of Global Practice and Partnership.

Also comprised Mr. Samer Elesawi, Head of IsDB Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur (KLCoE) as well as representatives from The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) and International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC).

On 27th February, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) organised the first exclusive Country’s Sharing Session focusing on three dynamic markets; Ireland, Bahrain & Saudi Arabia.

AMCC Director, Mr Ahmed Alami presented on Vision 2030: Opportunities for Malaysian Businesses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The session offered valuable insights and knowledge needed to expand business into these lucrative regions.
