Anticipating property trends

With 2012 fast approaching, many property investors and buyers are wondering what the market will hold for them in terms of yield and viability as well as what to put their money in.

1) "eco-friendly properties" in view of the global concern for the environment and depleting energy resources.

2) greater demand for smaller built-up units, such the "SoHo" (small office, home office) concept and granny apartments. Small office/home or SoHo concepts are not only affordable, these units can be attractive in terms of design, space utilisation, creativity, integrated facilities or IT-driven features.

Malaysia’s real estate market will have great changes in 2012. There will be a very special trend in 2012 because middle cost housing will be the new investment focus, government’s My First Home Scheme, which will encourage the construction of more middle cost houses.

In additions, other government projects which are under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP)such as KLIFD, construction of the new MRT and incentives for properties in the tourism sector , are believed to be on schedule to enhance Malaysia’s image internationally.
