On 25th May 2026, EUROCHAM Malaysia CEO Kati Ferry attended the Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC)โ€™s 30th Anniversary Celebration at Sunway Hotel and met with Marco Winter, Executive Director of MDBC; Datuk Anuar Taib, Chairman of MDBC and Board Member of EUROCHAM Malaysia and Datoโ€™ Sivasuriyamoorthy, former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MIDA.

The event brought together business leaders, chamber partners and industry representatives to mark three decades of MDBCโ€™s role in strengthening commercial and investment links between Malaysia and the Netherlands, while also highlighting the longstanding contribution of Dutch companies across a wide range of sectors in Malaysia. In his remarks, Guest of Honour Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim, CEO of MIDA, noted that Dutch investments in Malaysia have generated more than 95,000 jobs and contributed over USD 5 billion in investments, reflecting the strong economic relationship between both countries.

Congratulations to MDBC, as EUROCHAM Malaysiaโ€™s bilateral chamber members, on reaching this significant 30-year milestone.

That was the focus of a high-level engagement organised by the Nordic Chambers of Commerce in Malaysia, featuring YBhg. Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, CEO of MIDA, with OCBC Bank as strategic partner and host for the evening.

Moderated by Dr. Ong Kian-Ming, the discussion went beyond policy headlines and tackled the bigger question: what will actually make investors choose Malaysia in an increasingly competitive region?

The session explored Malaysiaโ€™s newly introduced New Incentive Framework (NIF), investment competitiveness, policy direction and the realities businesses are evaluating before committing long-term capital into the market.

One thing was clear throughout the evening: attracting quality investment today is no longer just about incentives. Speed, clarity, talent, ecosystem strength and long-term confidence now matter just as much.

EUROCHAM Malaysia recently visited Konecranes facilities in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, and met with Tarik Alkhalil, Vice President APAC, and Dinesh Nair, Country Director, to discuss industrial growth, workforce readiness, AI integration and the future competitiveness of Malaysiaโ€™s manufacturing sector.
