YOU JUST WON A RM500K CONTRACT.

BUT YOU NEED RM150K TO START THE JOB.

Sounds like a good problem to have, right?

You've secured the customer. The revenue is coming.

But there's one problem.

You need to pay your suppliers, buy materials and cover staff costs before your customer pays you.

And the customer might only settle the invoice 30 to 60 days after the work is completed.

So even though you've secured a RM500K contract, you still need RM150K in working capital to deliver it.

This is where business financing may help.

But here's something many business owners overlook.

A signed contract doesn't automatically qualify your business for a loan.

Depending on the financing product, the bank may also assess:

Your company's operating history.

Your business bank statements.

Existing financial commitments.

Cash flow and repayment capacity.

The contract and supporting documents.

Before applying, you need to understand how much financing the business actually requires and whether the repayment structure fits your cash flow.

At Massive Loan, we help business owners assess their financing needs, review their business profiles and explore suitable financing options through our banking partners.

CASE FILE #001

Salary RM7,500. CCRIS all 0. Needs RM80K.

Looks like a strong case?

Not so fast.

Here's the profile:

Salary: RM7,500
Car loan: RM1,200/month
Personal loan: RM900/month
Credit cards: RM22,000 outstanding
CCRIS repayment: All 0
Financing needed: RM80,000

The first thing we wouldn't do is immediately ask:

“Which bank can give RM80K?”

We'd look at the whole case.

1. How much is actually left every month?

RM7,500 income sounds healthy.

But existing commitments and credit card repayments already take a portion of that income.

2. What's happening with the RM22K credit card balance?

Is it being reduced consistently?

Or is the customer paying it down and using it again every month?

Those are very different situations.

3. Why does the customer need RM80K?

This matters.

Is it for a genuine one-off financing need?

Or is the RM80K being used to solve an existing monthly cash-flow problem?

Because if someone is already struggling every month, adding another repayment may not solve the real issue.

So, would we submit this case immediately?

Not based on these numbers alone.

We'd assess the complete profile first, then determine what financing route, if any, makes sense.

That's the difference between applying for a loan and having a loan strategy.

ONE RM3,000 EMERGENCY.

WOULD YOU NEED TO BORROW?

Your salary may be enough for a normal month.

But what happens when the month isn't normal?

Car repair: RM2,500.

Medical expense: RM3,000.

Home repair: RM1,800.

Suddenly, there's no spare cash.

So the credit card comes out.

Or you borrow from another facility.

Then next month's salary has another repayment waiting for it.

This is why healthy cash flow isn't just about being able to pay your bills today.

You also need some room for the unexpected.

If every ringgit of your salary is already allocated before payday, another loan may give you temporary relief, but it also creates another commitment.

Before borrowing, ask yourself:

“Is this a one-off emergency, or am I short of cash almost every month?”

Those are two very different problems.

If you're constantly using new credit to cover old commitments, it may be time to review your overall debt structure instead.

At Massive Loan, we assess your existing commitments and financial situation before recommending suitable financing options.

Don't just solve this month's problem. Look at the bigger picture.

YOUR SALARY HAS TOO MANY OWNERS.

Salary comes in.

Before you even use it, everyone gets their share.

Car loan.
Personal loan.
Credit cards.
BNPL.
Phone instalment.
Insurance.
Other financing.

Individually, each payment might look manageable.

RM300 here.
RM500 there.
RM800 somewhere else.

But add everything together and suddenly a large part of your salary is already committed before you've paid for food, petrol, utilities or your family.

That's why looking at each debt separately can be misleading.

Look at the total amount leaving your account every month.

For example:

Take-home salary: RM6,500

Total debt commitments: RM3,400

You're already starting the month with only RM3,100 before normal living expenses.

This is where people can get trapped.

They don't necessarily have one massive loan.

They simply have too many monthly repayments.

If that's your situation, don't automatically add another loan.

First, understand whether your existing debts can be managed differently.

For eligible borrowers, debt consolidation may be one option worth assessing.

The goal isn't more borrowing. It's a more manageable monthly cash flow.

YOUR CREDIT CARD SAYS:
“AVAILABLE LIMIT: RM8,000”

That doesn't mean you have RM8,000.

It means you can borrow another RM8,000.

Sounds obvious.

But when cash gets tight, it's easy to start treating available credit like money sitting in the bank.

RM800 for an emergency.

RM1,200 for a repair.

RM500 for shopping.

Then another expense comes up next month.

Before long, the card that had plenty of available limit is carrying a large balance.

And now part of next month's salary is already committed to paying yesterday's expenses.

That's the important difference:

Savings give you a buffer.
Credit gives you a repayment.

If you're regularly depending on credit cards just to make it to the next payday, don't only focus on getting a higher limit or another loan.

Look at what's creating the cash-flow shortage in the first place.

And if multiple debts are already putting pressure on your monthly income, it may be worth assessing whether restructuring or debt consolidation is suitable.

Fix the cash flow before adding more debt.

“I JUST NEED ONE MORE LOAN TO CLEAR EVERYTHING.”

Maybe.

But first, do the numbers.

Let's say you're short RM1,500 every month after paying your existing commitments and household expenses.

A new RM30,000 loan gives you temporary cash.

For a while, things feel better.

But now you also have another monthly instalment.

If the original RM1,500 monthly shortfall hasn't been fixed, eventually the new money runs out.

And you're back to the same problem, with one more debt to repay.

That's why the first question shouldn't be:

“Where can I get another loan?”

It should be:

“Why am I short every month?”

Sometimes new financing makes sense.

Sometimes existing debts need to be restructured.

Sometimes expenses or commitments need to come down first.

And sometimes taking another loan simply isn't the right move.

At Massive Loan, we assess the numbers first before recommending a financing option.

Because the goal isn't just to get you another loan.

It's to find a financing solution you can actually manage.

“I PAY MY CREDIT CARD ON TIME EVERY MONTH.”

Good.

But are you paying the full balance or only the minimum payment?

There’s a big difference.

Imagine your credit card balance is RM15,000.

Every month, you make the required minimum payment.

So you don't miss the due date.

But you continue using the card for groceries, petrol, bills and other expenses.

The balance never really comes down.

Month after month, you're servicing the debt without making enough progress on the principal.

And when you want to apply for another loan, that existing balance and monthly commitment don't simply disappear because you've been paying on time.

This is why good repayment behaviour is only part of a healthy credit profile.

If you're constantly relying on minimum payments just to get through the month, look at the bigger problem: your debt and monthly cash flow.

For people carrying several existing debts, it may also be worth assessing whether debt consolidation is suitable.

Don't wait for missed payments before fixing the problem.

23/09/2026

“MY BUSINESS MADE RM300K PROFIT LAST YEAR.”

So why is the bank asking about my bank statements?

Because profit and cash flow are not the same thing.

Your accounts may show a profitable business.

But the bank also wants to understand what is actually happening with the money.

For example:

Customers may take 60 days to pay you.

You may have RM200K in outstanding invoices.

Stock may be tying up RM150K.

Meanwhile, salaries, rent, suppliers and loan repayments still need to be paid every month.

So on paper:

Profitable business.

In reality:

Cash flow is tight.

That's why business owners shouldn't focus only on revenue and profit when preparing for financing.

Your actual banking activity matters too.

Before applying, understand:

→ How much cash comes in each month
→ How much goes out
→ How quickly customers pay you
→ Your existing commitments
→ How much cash buffer the business keeps

A bank isn't financing your P&L statement.

It needs to understand whether the business can repay the financing.

22/09/2026

“MY CCRIS IS GOOD. WHY DID THE BANK REJECT ME?”

Because paying everything on time is important.

But it doesn't automatically mean your loan will be approved.

A bank may still look at your overall financial position:

→ How much you already owe
→ Your monthly commitments
→ Your income and employment stability
→ Your available cash flow
→ Recent credit applications
→ The financing amount you're asking for
→ The bank's own credit criteria

Here's a simple example.

You earn RM6,000.

Every repayment is on time.

But your car loan, personal loan, credit cards and other commitments are already taking a large portion of your monthly income.

Your repayment record may be good.

But adding another RM1,000+ monthly commitment could still be difficult.

That's why “good CCRIS” and “strong borrowing capacity” are not the same thing.

Before applying, look at your whole financial profile.

Not just whether you have a “0” in CCRIS.

At Massive Loan, we assess your profile first and help identify financing options that better match your situation.

RM7,000 SALARY.

RM200 LEFT BEFORE THE NEXT PAYDAY.

If this happens every month, don't only ask:

“Can I qualify for a loan?”

Ask:

“Where is my money actually going?”

A decent salary doesn't automatically mean healthy cash flow.

You could be earning well but still have:

→ Heavy monthly commitments
→ Credit card repayments
→ Frequent BNPL instalments
→ High fixed household expenses
→ Very little emergency buffer

And taking another loan without understanding the problem could make the monthly pressure worse.

Before applying, look at your last 3 months of bank statements.

Not just the salary coming in.

Look at what's left before the next salary comes in.

If RM6,000–RM7,000 keeps coming in but almost everything goes out, that's something worth fixing before adding another commitment.

Sometimes you need financing.

Sometimes you need to restructure existing debt.

And sometimes the right answer is not to borrow yet.

At Massive Loan, we assess the situation first before recommending the next step.
