The first project undertaken and completed by MMC Gamuda was the construction of the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) which made history as the world’s first dual-purpose tunnel and opened for operations 2007. Building on this achievement with the successful completion of the Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP) in 2014, MMC Gamuda was then entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the project integrator for the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) Project which was envisaged to radically transform and improve Kuala Lumpur’s public transportation infrastructure through the creation of a sustainable, modern rail-based network system. The first MRT line in the project, the MRT Kajang Line was completed by MMC Gamuda ahead of schedule and within budget and has been fully operational since July 2017.
