Every 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 does exactly 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬. Most founders only do one.

This afternoon, Bikesh Lakhmichand broke down the exact framework that turns investor interest into actual investment.

If you missed it, here is your 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙩.

A winning pitch has two jobs: 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 and 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞. (Proof without upside is small; upside without proof is hype).

Here is the 𝟒 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 to nail both in your deck:

1️⃣ 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 (𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦)
Don't just describe a category. Show a costly customer problem and answer "Why now?" What market shift makes this the exact moment to win?

2️⃣ 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 (𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧)
Explain what you do in one simple sentence. Then, back it up with stage-matched proof. Real behavior and payments beat opinions and waitlists every time.

3️⃣ 𝐒𝐄𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐔𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄 (𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭)
Size your market bottom-up (Reachable customers × Annual value). Never say "If we just get 1% of the TAM..." Show your unit economics and how you'll win your first 10, 100, and 1,000 customers.

4️⃣ 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 (𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐤)
Raise for milestones, not time. "I'm raising RM X to reach 500 paying users" is an ask. "I'm raising RM X for 18 months of runway" is not.

🚀 The Golden Rule: The Proof Ladder matters.
Opinions ➔ Waitlists ➔ Pilot ➔ Active usage ➔ Paying customers ➔ Signed commitments.
Build your proof before you build your deck. The further right you go, the easier the '𝐲𝐞𝐬' becomes.

🙌 That’s a wrap on Fundraising 101 webinar.
It was a great morning on 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 spent with 55+ Malaysian founders and business owners, unpacking one of the trickiest parts of building a business: fundraising.

Bikesh Lakhmichand shared a reminder that stayed with us: 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲.
The goal isn’t to raise money just because it sounds impressive. It’s about raising the right kind of capital, at the right time, for the right reason.

A few key takeaways:
🔷 The more proof you have like traction, revenue, healthy numbers, the more funding options opens up.
🔷 Not every business needs Venture Capital. Grants, debt, P2P, ECF and Private Equity all serve different purposes.
🔷 Start with your milestone, work out what it takes to get there, then figure out how much to raise.
🔷 Fundraising is not one-size-fits-all. Knowing which door to knock on can make all the difference.
