In April, CCIFM - CCI France Malaysia was delighted to organise and lead the Malaysia Retailers Association (MRA) delegation to Paris for an immersive journey into the world of luxury and retail.
Designed as part of the MRA Leadership Programme, this experience brought participants closer to the pulse of the French market, where heritage, innovation, and customer experience intersect. ๐๏ธ๐ก
Through exclusive engagements with key ecosystem players, including industry associations such as EURELIA, international division of PROCOS and several of its member brands, Jacadi and Groupe Guinot - Mary Cohr, delegates gained valuable insights into market dynamics, expansion strategies, and evolving consumer expectations, while also exploring potential collaborations between French and Malaysian retail players.
The programme also featured curated visits across diverse segments of the retail landscape, from luxury department stores such as Printemps and Groupe Bon Marchรฉ : Le Bon Marchรฉ Rive Gauche, La Grande Epicerie de Paris et la Samaritaine, to iconic luxury houses such as LVMH and Guerlain, one of the worldโs oldest luxury brands, renowned for its heritage of craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless beauty alongside major retail and distribution players including Carrefour, ExtenC - International Partners and Monoprix (Groupe Casino), each offering distinct perspectives on store innovation, merchandising, and experiential retail. ๐๏ธ
Beyond retail spaces, participants explored the world of artisanal pastry and chocolate craftsmanship through immersive experiences with renowned houses such as Pierre Hermรฉ Paris, Ducasse Paris and Pรขtisserie Christophe Michalak, where craftsmanship, storytelling, and sensory experiences play a central role in shaping customer engagement.
The programme also included a casual moment over dinner, where the delegation had the opportunity to reconnect with Axel Cruau, former Ambassador of France to Malaysia.
More than a learning journey, the programme served as a platform for exchange, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of the ongoing evolution of retail in a global context. ๐
We extend our sincere appreciation to all partners who contributed to the success of this programme.
