Hakikatnya, medical surveillance adalah keperluan undang-undang bagi tempat kerja tertentu, terutamanya apabila CHRA menunjukkan risiko pendedahan yang boleh menjejaskan kesihatan pekerja.

Ia merangkumi pemeriksaan:
• Pra-penempatan
• Berkala
• Pemeriksaan perubatan keluar

Penilaian dilakukan oleh Doktor Kesihatan Pekerjaan (OHD) berdasarkan CHRA, pemantauan udara dan pemantauan biologi.
