We are pleased to have organized a successful event in collaboration with Barry Callebaut (Malaysia)! Special thanks to Barry Callebaut for hosting BeLuxCham Malaysia and guests in their new office space in 1Powerhouse Petaling Jaya.

Barry Callebaut is a Belgian-Swiss cocoa processor and chocolate manufacturer who supplies ingredients that is used in most of Malaysian favourite snacks/food found on every household shelf such as Gardenia, Oreo, Magnum ice cream and more. On this special occasion, we were given an exclusive opportunity to taste exquisite quality chocolate products that exhilarated the taste buds of every guest. Additionally, we are blessed with a chance to tour the new conducive office space.

We have the privilege of having Robert Kotuszewski (Managing Director Malaysia & VP FM SEA) to expound on the history up to the aspiration of Barry Callebaut in all across the world focusing on Malaysia and Asia Pacific. We would also acknowledge His Excellency Peter Van Acker (Ambassador) and Pierrick Massaux (Deputy Head of Mission) - Embassy of Belgium in Kuala Lumpur, for the special visit. An enjoyable night of networking in the InterChamber Ladies Sundowner was successfully co-organised on the 15 March at Le Meridian Kuala Lumpur together with 12 business chambers Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC), Malaysia Canada Business Council (MCBC), Eurocham Malaysia, Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC), AmCham Malaysia (American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce), Malaysia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC), CCI France Malaysia - CCIFM, British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce - BMCC (BMCC), Swiss Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (SMCC) and The Malaysian-Swedish Business Association (MASBA). BeluxCham Malaysia would like to thank MGCC for the opportunity to collaborate in this event and having to represent our chamber is Ms. Pauline Goh, Vice-President of BeLuxCham Malaysia.

Dato Ami is the former CEO of Maybank Investment Banking Group (Maybank IBG), lead the elevation from a single-market Malaysian entity into ASEAN’s leading homegrown investment bank with business operations in 10 countries. She was appointed Chair of the 30% Club Malaysia in October 2021, an active voice for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion agenda in Malaysia’s capital market.

The 30% Club Malaysian Chapter was launched in May 2015. Its aim is to improve diversity on the Malaysian corporate boards and senior management. 30% Club is a business-led campaign promoting diversity and inclusion with a focus on gender balance on Boards and C-suites, encouraging businesses to work together for change and sustainable progress future women leaders for boards and senior positions.

BeLuxCham would like to take this opportunity to thank Malaysian Investment Development Authority - MIDA and Invest Johor for the invitation to the MIDA Invest Series: Unfolding States’ Business Potential Johor by the Johor State Government, attended by the chamber’s Vice-President Ms. Pauline Goh.

We would express our heartiest congratulation to Johor for obtaining top performance, highest approved investment amounted to RM 70.6 billion in Malaysia in 2022. On behalf of the chamber, Ms. Pauline Goh our Vice-president, had a fruitful discussion together with Dato' Ragu Sampasivam, Mr. Fariddudin Osman, and Ms. Sharmilaa Tan, representatives from the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC), our corporate member.
