Ever wondered what's the difference between Initial & Advanced Ergonomics Risk Assessment (ERA) under the DOSH Guidelines on Ergonomics Risk Assessment at Workplace 2017.
Here is the practical difference.
💻 Initial ERA is a qualitative review of ergonomic risk factors across job tasks. It identifies whether risk is present and whether further investigation is needed.
👷Advanced ERA is a quantitative deep dive using internationally recognised methods such as RULA, REBA, ROSA and ART. It is typically triggered when the Initial ERA flags a risk factor for a certain tasks that need measurable evidence to justify controls.
Both must be conducted by an Ergonomics Trained Person (ETP) registered with DOSH. A report from anyone else will not satisfy a JKKP inspection. MESH houses the largest team of competent ETPs in Malaysia for both Initial and Advanced ERA. Drop us a message and our experts will help to advise you further!
