BEYOND THE BEHAVIOUR 🧠✨

Every behaviour has a reason, a message, and a need behind it.

As Occupational Therapists, understanding behaviour is an important part of understanding the child as a whole. This training gave OT Sabrina & OT Nabilah the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and explore how we can better understand, respond to, and support children’s behaviour in a meaningful and functional way.

Because sometimes, instead of asking “Why is the child behaving like this?”, we can start by asking:

💭 “What is the child trying to communicate?”
💭 “What need is behind this behaviour?”
💭 “How can we support the child better?”

Continuous learning helps us grow as therapists and, most importantly, helps us provide better support for the children we work with. 🤍

Occupational Therapy dan Speech-Language Therapy sama-sama penting dalam menyokong perkembangan anak.

Kedua-duanya mempunyai fokus yang berbeza, tetapi boleh saling melengkapi mengikut keperluan anak.

Perkembangan komunikasi tidak berlaku secara berasingan. Bagi sesetengah kanak-kanak, kemahiran seperti:

✅ Regulation
✅ Attention
✅ Sensory processing
✅ Imitation
✅ Motor planning
✅ Joint attention

boleh mempengaruhi bagaimana mereka belajar, bermain, berinteraksi dan berkomunikasi.

Sebab itu, dalam keadaan tertentu, Occupational Therapist dan Speech-Language Therapist boleh bekerjasama untuk menyokong perkembangan anak secara menyeluruh.

Setiap anak mempunyai keperluan yang berbeza. Sesi penilaian adalah penting untuk membantu mengenal pasti keperluan anak dan menentukan intervensi yang sesuai.

Anak susah urus diri sendiri?

✅ Pakai baju masih perlukan banyak bantuan.
✅ Sukar duduk dan kekal fokus.
✅ Mudah mengamuk bila sesuatu tak berlaku seperti yang dia mahukan.

Kadang-kadang perkara yang nampak mudah bagi kita sebenarnya memerlukan banyak kemahiran untuk seorang anak.

Di Kulim Speech Therapy Centre, Occupational Therapist kami membantu mengenal pasti kemahiran yang mungkin masih mencabar untuk anak.

❌ Bukan sebab anak DEGIL.
❌ Bukan sebab anak MANJA.

Mungkin dia cuma belum tahu bagaimana hendak BERKOMUNIKASI dan menyampaikan apa yang dia mahu.

Ramai ibu bapa menyangka anak akan mula bercakap sendiri apabila semakin besar.

Tetapi jika anak masih:

• Hanya menunjuk apabila mahukan sesuatu
• Sukar menyebut perkataan
• Mudah kecewa apabila tidak difahami

Ia mungkin petanda anak memerlukan penilaian terapi pertuturan dan bahasa.

Semakin awal kita memahami keperluan anak, semakin awal bantuan yang sesuai boleh diberikan.

Sejak tahun 2022 sehingga kini, lebih 2,153 keluarga telah memilih Kulim Speech Therapy Centre untuk membantu anak mereka mencapai tahap komunikasi yang lebih optimum.

Di KSTC, sesi penilaian dijalankan secara profesional untuk membantu ibu bapa memahami tahap perkembangan komunikasi anak dan menentukan langkah seterusnya yang sesuai.

Sesi Penilaian Kali Pertama
RM180/sesi (1 jam 30 minit)

Sesi Follow-up Seterusnya
RM139/sesi (1 jam)

Setiap sesi merangkumi sesi bersama anak serta sesi maklum balas kepada ibu bapa/penjaga.
