Women pioneer in medicine: She graduated from King Edward VII College of Medicine in 1955, she became one of the first Malay woman medical doctors in the country.

Advocate for Women & Children: Long before holding national leadership roles, she dedicated her early career to rural public health, maternal and child welfare, and family planning, in bringing healthcare access to under-served communities.

A Pillar of Grace & Social Leadership

Civil Society Leadership: Throughout her decades of public life, she championed causes in literacy, drug abuse prevention, mental health awareness, and disability welfare.

Nurturing Future Leaders: Through her roles with the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia, BaKTI Foundation, and numerous national patrons, her advocacy transformed grassroots community engagement.

Congratulations to Ming Choo Ling on her appointment as CHRO, APEC (ex Greater China), Marriott International

Some career journeys are worth pausing to appreciate.

Ling Ming’s journey with Unilever spans an incredible 20 years, beginning as a Management Trainee in in 1996 and taking her through HRIS transformation in the UK, Reward leadership across Southeast Asia & Australasia, HR transformation, HR operations, and progressively larger HR leadership roles across Malaysia, and the wider region.

Over those two decades, she moved from managing Talent, Rewards & HRIS to becoming Head of HR for multiple markets, before taking on increasingly complex regional and global responsibilities. As Global HR Lead for Beauty & Personal Care, she partnered with a €11 billion global category leadership team across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Most recently, as CHRO Home Care Greater Asia & , she led HR for a €1.4 billion business across Greater Asia while simultaneously serving as Country HR Head for Thailand, and ; covering more than 4,000 employees and three manufacturing sites.

That breadth of experiences; from HR transformation and rewards to country leadership, regional businesses and global categories, is what makes her move to Marriott particularly exciting.

After 20 years of building her leadership journey at Unilever, Ming Choo takes on a regional CHRO role with one of the world's leading hospitality companies.
