SEDC Fisheries Sdn. Bhd. was honoured to receive a courtesy visit from the SEDC Leadership Team, led by Pn. Hajah Rakayah, together with the Director of LKIM, Mr. Raymond.

The visit provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, explore innovative approaches, and strengthen strategic collaboration towards advancing the fisheries industry. Discussions focused on optimising the existing facilities at LKIM Tanjung Manis to enhance operational efficiency and support the sustainable growth of the fisheries sector.

DRIVING THE FUTURE OF DEEP-SEA FISHERIES STRATEGIC COLLABORATION IN TANJUNG MANIS

SEDC Fisheries received a courtesy visit from Kenyalang Fisheries Sdn Bhd together with Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan MaLaysia (LKIM) in a strategic discussion session held at LKIM to explore potential collaboration in the development of the deep-sea fisheries industry in Tanjung Manis.

The discussion focused on strengthening strategic partnerships between industry players and relevant agencies, while exploring opportunities to enhance the sustainability, competitiveness, and growth of the fisheries sector for the benefit of the industry and local community.

It is hoped that this strategic collaboration will further drive the development of the deep-sea fisheries industry in Tanjung Manis and contribute towards the continuous growth of the nation’s fisheries sector.

SEDC Fisheries menerima kunjungan hormat daripada Kenyalang Fisheries Sdn Bhd bersama pihak Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia (LKIM) dalam satu sesi perbincangan strategik yang telah diadakan di LKIM bagi membincangkan potensi usahasama dalam membangunkan industri perikanan laut dalam di Tanjung Manis.

COURTESY VISIT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FISHERIES SARAWAK ON VESSEL LICENSING AND DEEP-SEA FISHING ACTIVITIES

A courtesy visit has been arranged by SEDC Fisheries Sdn Bhd (SFSB), a subsidiary of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), to the Department of Fisheries Sarawak on 5th May 2026.

The discussion focused on vessel licensing and the current state of Sarawak's deep-sea fishing industry.

This visit aims to foster meaningful conversations and open opportunities for collaboration, particularly in improving the operations of deep-sea fishing vessels and addressing key matters related to licensing.

SFSB looks forward to strengthening its partnership with the Department of Fisheries Sarawak, and advancing the growth of Sarawak’s deep-sea fishing sector.

SEDC STRENGTHENS FISHERIES SECTOR THROUGH STRATEGIC MOU WITH SFSB AND KEPLI HOLDINGS

A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been formalised between SEDC Fisheries Sdn Bhd (SFSB), a subsidiary of SEDC, and KEPLI Holdings, marking a new chapter of collaboration in the fisheries and related industries.

The MoU was signed by Encik Herman Hadafi bin Mohamad, Director of SFSB, and Dato Mohamad Kepli bin Ahmad, Managing Director of KEPLI Holdings, with the presence of Encik Mohamad Hafiz bin Suhaili, Executive Director of SFSB, and Dato Dr. Amin Khan, Consultant of KEPLI Holdings.

Key initiatives outlined in the collaboration include ice block supply, technical advisory services, vessel acquisition, plate replacement, and licensing facilitation.

The signing ceremony was honored by YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr.) Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato Haji Husain, Chairman of SEDC, is showcasing SEDC’s ongoing commitment to driving sustainable growth and creating long-term economic value for the industry.
