MYAGROSIS or Malaysia Agroentrepreneurial Club for University Students was launched on December 2012 by the Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Upon the launching of the club, MYAGROSIS would be able to take tertiary institutions to the core of the countryβs food production as well as to help the country tackles its food import deficit. With the collaboration between two ministrie
s, the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry (MOA) and Higher Education ministry (MOHE), MyAgrosis will contribute to the development of the countryβs agriculture sector. MYAGROSIS puts target on each IPTA to have 1000 students joining the club. This program aims to encourage youth and university graduates to venture into production and marketing of Agro-based products. Main Function:
-To produce graduates in the production and marketing of Agro-based products.
-To increase food production and agriculture market by fulfilling the increasing needs of people in Malaysia on food in accordance of import substitution and export orientation concept.
-To increase country competitiveness as compared to other developed countries in production and marketing of agro-product through effective entrepreneurship program, effective workforce, optimize natural resources, innovation, research and technology. There are four main component under MYAGROSIS:
-Agro Farm (new technology farming system such as fertigation system and hydroponics. It focused on vegetables and fruits)
-Agro Business (retailing, production, wholesaler)
-Agro Akuakultur (fisheries)
-Agro Innovation (innovate new product based on agriculture)
