Budget 2027 was tabled this afternoon, and a few of the changes matter for the SME owners and working families we work with.
If you run a business
Minimum wage goes up from RM1,700 to RM2,000 in June 2027. If you're an MSME with annual revenue below RM50 million, you're exempted from this increase for now. The government is also looking at wage support through the Progressive Wage Policy, so it's still good to plan ahead.
If you're raising a family
- Individual tax relief goes up from RM9,000 to RM12,000
- Parent and grandparent care relief now covers all care costs, not only medical
- Medical relief now covers postnatal care too
If you're a caregiver
The monthly care allowance for bedridden OKU and chronic patients goes up from RM500 to RM600.
Many of our VAs at Heartworks are mums and caregivers juggling work and family. Fair, flexible work lets them earn with dignity while helping the businesses they support grow.
