From expanded tax relief for senior-care expenses to changes in service tax for qualifying elderly-care services, these are positive steps towards making care more accessible.

What a lovely weekend at Mental Wellness Fest 2026 at Leisure Mall Cheras!

Organised by I Hope centre, the event brought together a wonderful crowd, and we were happy to meet so many visitors at the Oretha’s Senior Care booth.

From the young to the young at heart, visitors had fun trying out our mini cognitive games, sparking conversations, sharing laughs and discovering how simple activities can keep our minds engaged.

We’re honoured to be featured in Rejoice Vol. 6, Full Gospel Assembly KL’s magazine, as part of its Senior Healthcare article, β€œSenior Healthcare – A Guide to Ageing Well.”

In this feature, our founder shares her insights on β€œEnd of Life – When Listening Matters More Than We Think,” highlighting the importance of listening with compassion, understanding individual wishes and having meaningful conversations about end-of-life care.

Sometimes, the most meaningful support we can offer is simply to listen, giving older adults the space to express their thoughts, wishes and concerns with dignity and respect.

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting a complimentary eye screening and eye-health talk at our SS3 Senior Daycare, conducted by Dr. Kewaljit Singh, Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 35 years of clinical experience and Director of Project Vision First.

We were delighted to see a good turnout, with our seniors and participants taking the opportunity to have their eyes checked and learn more about the importance of maintaining good eye health as we age.

A big thank you to Dr. Kewaljit Singh and everyone who joined us and made the session a meaningful one!

We hope to continue bringing more opportunities like this to our seniors and community.

When I started accompanying seniors to hospital appointments in 2019, β€œSenior Concierge” was not a term many people were familiar with.

I simply saw a need. There were seniors navigating busy hospitals alone, while their children struggled to take time away from work and family responsibilities.

Over the years, our team has learnt that hospital accompaniment is about much more than being physically present. It means knowing how to navigate different departments, listening carefully during consultations, noting important instructions and keeping the family informed.

I’m glad that more people now recognise the importance of this service. It means more seniors can receive the support they need.

At Oretha’s Senior Care, we will continue drawing on the experience we have built since 2019. One senior. One family. One appointment at a time.

As part of our Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, our seniors at SS3 got hands-on making their very own mooncakes, while our seniors at Cheras got creative making lanterns from ice-cream sticks and crafting beautiful greeting cards.
