Don't GO OUT without this!😲

Use my money monster Battle Index to help you with your battles! 🤜💥

When fighting for financial survival, especially during the pandemic, every bit of help does make a difference.

In my my previous posts, I spoke heavily about the money monsters and how it can impact your life.

I realized that on the road to redemption, we need to open up about our problems. 🔊

None of us can run away from it but if we work together, we learn ways to conquer the monsters. 🙌

When dealing with financials, like an organisation, you need help and there's plenty of people that can help you get back on track.

Yes! A lot of it depends on our own initiative. But if you are still struggling, you do need a mindset change and if it's too technical don't be afraid to go the experts!

LinkedIn is brilliant because you have access to good Financial experts that are licensed to help you craft your battle plan!

So, how do I find my battle partner?🤔
✅ It's just a matter of reaching out and starting that conversation
✅ Assess if your financial expert can really help you
✅ Look at the proposed short term and long term plan
✅ How well the expert reviews your current financial position
✅ Compatibility is key. When handling something so sensitive and important, it's necessary that you can trust the expert!

Ok.

😎 But before all that, please have a look at guide to sizing up your MONEY MONSTERS!

And I'll be tackling the some of the monsters tonight at 8 pm on LOL with Rizal. I'm a battle survivor and Idham Idris is an expert!

Share with us your stories or questions during the live show! We fight those monsters together!

My salary came in on the 28th of the month. it's gone on the 29th. 😰

Yeap. You heard it right. I had about RM300+ in my bank account at the start of the month... for many months a few years back. 😭

I was in a senior position in my previous firm and earning quite well. So I thought.

What happened? 😵

It was a series of mistakes and lack of understanding of what personal finance is.

Here were some of the reasons why I struggled with money:

🟡 I had no backup reserves for emergencies and realized that each month there's always something out of the norm we would pay.

🟡 Suddenly felt rich and the credit card became a friend. Always thought that because I have a stable high income I could pay back.

🟡 Buying properties without proper financial planning and taking up loans with unfavorable terms.

🟡 Changed my lifestyle too drastically and thought that I'm a high flyer. But I wasn't.

🟡 Taking on personal loans (from banks) to cover certain purchases and payment for loans 😔 Yes, that happened too.

Back to where I am now, things have improved and I'm glad all the issues above have been resolved.

I did manage to fight the MONEY monsters! And it was a damn long battle 🤜💥.

I had a team of people who helped me back on my feet and it really lifted me up.

Do you have your own horror financial story?

Join me this Thursday at 8 pm to talk about fighting this monster! The fight is real!

Here's the MIC and share with us something about you 🎤

How many times has this happened to you? 😧

It could be a get together, team meeting, town hall or even a speaking engagement.

It's almost like a necessity for us especially during in an interview, as the interviewer(s) are trying to get to know you better.

So it's safe to say that you already need to have that piece about yourself ready at all times, especially if it's at an important meeting. 🤔

We've all learned about the elevator pitch, but what if the audience wants to really get to know more about you? This is beyond your normal short USP spill 😅

I've got my backend story ready, and super happy to share my experiences and journey with anyone. With hope that there will be people who would be inspired, gain further interest in me, or at the very least get to know me better💪

So how do we set up our story so that it could be part of your speaking repertoire?

For me, it'd be a mix of the information below:

✅ Picked different highlights of my personal journey of moving between countries and cultures
✅ Things that makes me who I am and what drives me
✅ Highlight various career achievements and personal milestones
✅ Talk about something unique that I personally experience
✅ Personal idols and how it helped shape your own motivations
✅ Anything that you are interested in or hobbies
✅ Sometimes, this can backfire.... is to share the Premier League team you are supporting. 🤣

Somehow this formula tends to work for me, and I'd change it up based on the audience. All I want is that I am able to showcase who I am and what I'm about, and then be relatable through my own experiences and ideas. 👨🖖

What would you put in your story if you were asked to speak about it? 🧐

You can't back out now! 😵

When I spoke earlier to Dr Nurrul Iiyana about our session tonight, she will be given a specific task tonight, which she CANNOT lie! 🤭

We joked about it and how this is going to be a no holds barred session where she needs to give us the real truth.

Is our business doing well?

I took her concept of Warung Usahawan, and raised these important questions to be answered tonight using the Warung theme!

🎯What makes a business turn upside down faster than the flipping of a roti canai!!

🎯Is our business plan like a teh tarik, so tasty at the start but the sweetness bites back because it's unhealthy!!

🎯When we look for opportunities like taking nasi campur dishes, do we take multiple plates of dishes (business opportunities) and later cannot finish (unable to deliver)?

🎯Overspending on unnecessary things, like getting a Dyson fan to use for your Satay!

🎯Not delivering as per expectations, like during ramadhan bazaar, when everything looks nice...until you taste it lol.

🎯Sometimes we need to know to ikat tepi or ikat mati when selling our products/services. 🤔

SO, join us tonight at 8pm (live here on my profile) as we go deep into the mindset of an entrepreneur and learn how to NOT be defeated. And yes, tonight, it will be with Teh Tarik (takde gula/takde susu pekat) 😨 because things are about to get REAL!

The Business of MEETINGS! 🤝

Something we can't run away from and it's part of your working life.

👉Meetings.

On average per day, we spend more than half your working day in meetings! 😮 Be it virtually, by phone, small/big group get together.

It's a necessity and plays a crucial part in making sure that we get to do what we need to do at work. So, why are we still struggling with meetings? 🤔

I did a poll and got back 𝟜𝟘𝟘+ responses.
And the results are in.🥁

50% or more of you voted for 'No Agenda' as your biggest issue faced when you are in a meeting.

No agenda = No purpose = No idea = No outcome

So, what does having no agenda do to you?

You end up:
🐔 Being a headless chicken
🕐 Wasting valuable time and money
😖 Frustrated because you don't know the purpose
🔁 Leads to indecision and potentially 'circling back'
👻 Meeting with zombies (wide eyes but lifeless)
😵 Talk about the same thing for a looong time
😅 You're on the third karipap because you are so bored

The list goes on and thanks to those that also shared some of the experiences above :)

Ok. Let's get back to basics. There are many elements to consider to run a good meeting. Today, I'm focusing on the agenda.

Setting up an agenda does sound easy, but it's NOT. There's a few things that you need to consider when setting up your meeting GAME plan.

Here is 101 guide on how to setup an agenda for a meeting!

This simple guide will help you run a meeting LIKE a BOSS😎

Feel free to add on points for us!

Dear 24 year old me,

Dude.
Congratulations on completing your degree. It's definitely a great feeling! Love the cool graduation photo!

You really shaped who I am today. It was a mad rollercoaster ride for you in the next couple of years but it allowed me to learn many valuable life lessons.

Job hunting!🏃
You'll be scrambling to prepare your CVs straight after this, and reach out to a LOT potential employers in Melbourne.

Your obsession with the job section in the newspapers 📰was EPIC. You'd circle all the jobs you wanted in the job ads section.

Dude, don't worry if you get rejected because this is part of your journey to discover who you really are. 😌

And you'll rock in your first full time job, and it's not even what you expected. It sets a chain of events that will lead you to another country!

Though you will still continue to seek answers to the million-dollar-question:

What is it that I want to do in life?

2 decades later (when you’re around my age), will you even get the wisdom to connect the dots and find the answer. Until then, trust your intuition and walk where your heart leads you to.

That's all for now dude. love ya!🥰

You take care! I'll write again soon.

PS- Please chill...no need to rush.

To feel emotions is only HUMAN👨🏿‍🤝‍👨🏼👨🏿‍🤝‍👨🏽

In your day to day working life, you need to make several decisions. Sometimes, you make decisions without being able to understand WHY you made that choice.

But one thing for sure, what we have experienced emotionally in the past plays a key role in our decisions in the future.

Emotions are key to almost ALL our

Emotions ➡Cognitive Processing ➡ Decision Making ➡ Choices ➡ Outcomes!

Simple right❓
Not really.

Along the way, I've learned that you will be stretched. EMOTIONALLY stretched.
🔸You will face joy, jubilation, triumph and glory.
🔸You will also face confusion, rejection, disagreements, mistakes, misunderstandings and sometimes hatred.
🔸But you keep on going at it, try to pick yourself up and go for gold🏆!

All you got to do is ⏩redirect your energy and positivity⏪
Look for ways to find your inner you, and return to a state of ZEN.

And restart again!

To feel emotions MAKES you human...

“Your emotions make you human. Even the unpleasant ones have a purpose. Don't lock them away. If you ignore them, they just get louder and angrier.”
- Sabaa Tahir

How does emotion IMPACT your decision making process?

Communication using a vegetable!🥗

I learned this during my time in Japan and my bosses had this printed on a HUGE poster in the center of our office floor.

➡ほうれんそう(Hou-ren-sou) = Spinach

Hourensou is a method of how you report to your superiors and colleagues in a Japanese business setting. 報連相 (Hou-ren-sou), having the same pronunciation as spinach in Japanese.

✅報告(ほうこく (Hou-ko-ku) Reporting on a timely basis on progress

✅連絡(れんらく (Ren-ra-ku) Informing any changes, updates or issues that may arise throughout the progress

✅相談(そうだん (Sou-dan) Consulting with your supervisor and work colleagues if there are uncertainties or in need of verification

Communication has always been key. And this is an essential element in order to develop a high performing work culture! 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

Plus I like spinach! It's healthy!😁

Any other vegetables that can be related to work? Apart from Bawang....😋
