If you only look at polished portfolios and case studies, you’d think the production journey to making a great product is a perfectly straight, beautiful line from idea to launch. 😅

Behind every beautiful, seamless app is what we like to call the "Messy Middle."

You know the phase; it’s where early wireframes are ugly, user testing completely breaks your initial assumptions, and your working file is tragically named “𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭_𝘷4_𝘈𝘊𝘛𝘜𝘈𝘓_𝘍𝘐𝘕𝘈𝘓.”

We actually touched on this recently when we shared Megan’s story about navigating the AI boom. Remember the part where she was completely drowning in placeholder copies, messy Figma layers, and overwhelming tech hype? That is the Messy Middle in action!

As an agency that handles everything from UX research to engineering, we’ve learned that you simply can't build great products without wading through this chaos. The unglamorous, frustrating work is where the actual problem-solving happens.

Yesterday, some of our team members—Selina Lai, Pradeep Singh, Xiao Yan, Mike Wong, Poh Xiang, Aina and Megan—headed over to the FuseSpark Meetup to dive into the topic of building AI that people actually trust!

As a community run-up to the big FUSECON conference in October, this meetup was exactly what we needed. Our team soaked up some incredible insights on designing trustworthy AI from Stephen Cox, Colin Pal, Kelferd Hor, Ren Chang and Wilson Kok. We also had an absolute blast networking, swapping ideas, and learning about the people in our local tech community.

A special shoutout to SEEK Asia for providing such a fantastic, welcoming space to learn and connect! This was our team's first time attending a FuseSpark event, but it definitely will not be our last.

A massive thank you to FuseCon Asia for putting together such a stellar evening! We look forward to the next one 😉

Last Thursday, the Netizen team set up shop at the APU Mega Career Fair from 10 AM to 3 PM, and we are still buzzing from the incredible conversations we had with so many promising students!

A massive shoutout to our awesome reps on the scene—Ricky, Wen Jie, and Yong Jian—who held it down at the booth. We didn't just want to hand out flyers, so we had an absolute blast running our interactive game, busting some major tech industry myths, and getting real about what agency work-life is 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 like.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, play our game, and share your career goals with us. We always leave these events so inspired, and we can't wait for more opportunities to connect with such brilliant upcoming talent.

When a digital payment takes zero effort, who is really benefiting?

We love celebrating one-tap checkouts and instant transfers. But here is the reality check: when a payment journey has absolutely zero friction, scammers do not even need to hack our systems. They just need to 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 a user for a few seconds.

Bad actors rush users, distract them, and trigger them emotionally. Once the user is in a state of panic, our beautifully seamless design simply does the rest of the work for the scammer.
