Gurun: Ada yang melarikan diri ke sawah sebelum menuju kawasan kampung dan ada juga yang menyusup masuk ke pekan hari berhampiran sebelum dijemput rakan dengan motosikal.

Bagaikan lipas kudung apabila masing-masing umpama 'pelari pecut' yang sedaya upaya mengerah kudrat kerana mahu meloloskan diri daripada ditahan.

Itu antara gelagat sekumpulan pekerja warga asing yang dilihat ketika serbuan dilakukan sepasukan anggota Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia (JIM) Kedah di tapak pembinaan rumah di Guar Chempedak, dekat sini, hari ini.

Bagaimanapun, cubaan mereka untuk melarikan diri ketika serbuan itu gagal apabila seluruh kawasan tapak pembinaan terbabit sudah dikepung anggota JIM.

Ketika serbuan, semua mereka sedang leka melakukan kerja masing-masing di tapak pembinaan itu.

Dalam operasi bermula jam 9.30 pagi itu, seramai 12 lelaki pekerja warga asing berusia 22 hingga 58 tahun ditahan untuk pemeriksaan.

Timbalan Pengarah JIM Kedah (Kawalan) Rosmaliza Mohamed Rashid berkata, daripada jumlah itu, seramai tujuh pekerja masing-masing enam warga Myanmar dan seorang Bangladesh ditahan kerana didapati tiada dokumen sah.

"Semua pekerja warga asing yang ditahan itu dibawa ke Bahagian Penguatkuasa Pejabat Imigresen Alor Setar.

"Selain itu, kita turut mengeluarkan notis kepada penyelia tapak pembinaan berkenaan bagi membantu siasatan," katanya ketika ditemui di lokasi.

Kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 6(1)(c) Akta Imigresen 1959/63.
