A solid chair is often underrated and overlooked, until you actually sit on a good one. After so many years, I can finally feel the difference it makes, considering how much time I spend sitting in front of my computer when I am not out filming in the field, especially during these times.

Very proud of the participants from these two communities. Latest update that I know of from this past two months - the heads of both groups are still actively filming short stories from their own backyards! Very encouraged by this! 🙌🏼👏🏼

The gala premiere of Eye On The Ball two nights ago was a blast! How often can you say that a film that you worked on, was showing on the big screen, and there was an amazing turnout for the gala event.
Ultimately, this was really all about these boys, their cause and the team + kudos to my friend who worked tirelessly on the story throughout!
opens in a week (19 March 2020) in cinemas here in Malaysia 🇲🇾⚽️. For more information on the film, the blind football team, and how you can contribute to their cause, visit the IG page of the film that has the link to the official website.

It’s been a while, and contrary to what I wrote in my last post, it hasn’t been quiet on any front - work or personal life, at all! For that, I am thankful!
I’ve been very excited for a while about a film that I had the privilege to work on, finally making its theatrical release in 10 days time, here in Malaysia. Eye On The Ball, the true story of a blind football team going against the odds to bring glory to our country, was a story my friend trusted me with lensing. I was honoured to have the opportunity to capture the essence of the film over the span of more than two years.
Find out more at www.eyeontheballfilm.com; and support the team by watching the film with your family and friends at a local cinema near you.

As filmmakers, we always care about telling a good story. We hope and wish to be part of something that’s seen as a good end product. The reality of life is - for those of us who work freelance, we also wonder about the next gig that may come our way.
Recently, with certain events happening that have caused postponement or cancellation of gigs, it’s also meant the loss of income. Looking a week, fortnight or month ahead at a time, it could turn from exciting to bleak in a hurry.
That’s seeing it glass half empty though. I still choose to see if glass half full 🤷🏻‍♂️🤫😅 might as well enjoy the downtime, like most of us like to say, right? 🙌🏼🙏🏻☀️

Started off 2020 by hitting the ground running, and January’s going to be a fun one with good picture opportunities and also 🍊🏮💥
It was really nice working with cine lenses on a shoot last week, as I don’t own my own (yet! *wishlist) and when I’m on documentary shoots, I don’t necessarily have that luxury, especially when it’s a lot of running and gunning. Perhaps this year, there may be more chances to work with new gear and more importantly, telling good stories!

[ HOME ] There’s always a certain level of comfort of going back to that “centre button” - after wrapping up an intense 2-week stretch; then during preparation for the coming few weeks before the end of 2019, I was down with food poisoning last week for a few days.
I’m very thankful for several loved ones who knew and checked on me constantly, as I was temporarily out of commission on the sofa for days, was home alone, and a couple of friends came to my aid with food, drink and medicine.
Once quickly recovered, it was just in time for quite the enjoyable weekend - from having a really good time behind the drum kit, to receiving and celebrating great news with good friends, to spending time with a bunch of promising and talented youth I’m proud of.
Now to move on to tackling this week, and the next few to come! 🙌🏼🙏🏻♥️🌳

Life’s not going to have a shortage of challenges, hurdles and dead ends. It’s more about stepping up, rising up to the tasks, kicking those problems in the nuts, grabbing it by the neck, and moving forward & upward with it.
Through it all, believe that the glimmer of hope will always pierce right through. 🙏🏻♥️🌳🙌🏼

Stagnating and feeling in a rut can be truly challenging times, be it on a personal or professional level. While the mind tells you that one should be able find another way out of a dead end, it is ultimately still easier said than done.
While there were countless times when I assured myself that there was no need to worry, that it would sort itself out; there were also those times when it felt as if things would just spiral into an endless abyss of darkness.
Of course, thankfully, it was more often an exaggeration on my part than anything. I always believe that there would always be a glimmer, and that things would always take a turn for the better.
Besides, if I have been almost completely absent from social media, it’s also because I’ve slacked off on sharing and updating. I’ve had many photos saved up for months that haven’t been shared; and also some plans to better my online presence in the coming months.
Here’s hoping I actually stick to the plan! .
