During this lockdown, I found that queues are long and online delivery slots at major supermarkets are full.

So I search for smaller suppliers that deliver groceries quickly.

This is a list that I’ve put together – most which I’ve personally called and some which me and my friends had ordered:

As my family and I are cooking lunch this MCO to send to hospitals, we had to make sure that there is a steady and enough supply of fresh groceries like

I know that during this partial lockdown, we are worried about not having enough food and supplies at home.

Going to the supermarket and pharmacy is perhaps necessary. But then we can also buy our food online. Or so I thought…

I’m unable to order from Jaya Grocer, TESCO, and Happy Fresh. But that had led me to found a few independent fresh produce supplies. One even source them from chemical-free farm!

Let’s support our local farmers/small businesses and order from them. If you do know of other small business like this, please let me know so that I can put it on the list.

If you can, please order food online and stay in to cook! :)

Malaysia has implemented a partial lockdown since 18 March 2020. In this two weeks, it is everyone's duty to do our best to stay home to curb Coronavirus

Just last week I indulged in a RM 100 haircut and RM 10 milkshake. Today, I realise that it’s such a luxury to dress up and eat out.

Now that Malaysia has imposed Movement Restriction Order, I think it’s the best time to stay in and work on our finances.

In my blog, I write about financial freedom using the FIRE method. I divide my money this way:

Capital: Salary
Cushion: Cash in the bank to cover six months of your expenses
Cache: Extra money

This time more than ever, I’m glad that I have a comfortable cushion to weather through coronavirus pandemic.

If you do, good job. If you don’t, sit down and figure out how to do it when the next unexpected disaster hit.

Let’s keep ourselves safe, and (financially) secure.

Simple joy...plucked hydrangea from my garden to liven up my dressing table.
At this volatile time where health, work, and finance is at risk; it’s important to calm down and think of our next step.
I find meditating, walking around the neighbourhood, and beautiful things like plants helps me feel at ease.
What calms you down?

I’m reading ‘How Not To Die’, a book which recommends plant and whole food base diet. One of his recommendation is one serving of berries a day.
Besides the fact that I believe in eating local, berries are so expensive!
But his research and argument convinced me. So I bought a packet of berries for about RM 8, on which I get 10% discount from my insurance.
I need only half a serving a day, which equals to 1/2 cup or about RM 4 per saving. While I can buy way more if I were to get local fruits, I really do love blueberries!
Since this is something I can easily afford and willing to pay - why not?
Sometimes value for money lies not just in its price. If one day I need to save, I can get cheaper alternative eg wolfberies. But for now, I’m also buying for enjoyment and convenience.
Snacking on some berries (and chocolates( by the whirlpool bath was priceless. What can you afford and makes you feel super good?

I love everything old. Old music, old movies, old medicine, old books and especially old people. Good things, I believe, are those which stood the test of time.
My late grandma used this old school calendar. I’m now putting this in my home too.
We don’t always need to buy new things. New is not always better. What old things do you appreciate? What old things can you reuse?

I minimize my spending last year and managed to saved 60% of my income.

But I didn’t feel deprived.

I find joy in things other than buying things. When I do buy things, it is those that I need and love. I also get a lot of satisfaction from what I bought.

Rationally, shopping is something that can be cut out entirely. Afterall, it's not food or rent. But that didn't work for me.

What is sustainable for me is shopping wisely. Introducing the concept of COST PER WEAR.

Buy few quality items that you absolutely love that you will use over and over again. In a long run, that expensive item cost you less than a cheaper one that you rarely use.

When it comes to fashion and beauty, I am quite a typical girly girl. I love clothing, makeup, and shopping. So much that even before I graduated, I

After a Star Wars themed birthday party, I was in the mood to have a romantic dinner somewhere. 🎂
We decided to go home instead, see what we have in the fridge, and made these in 30 minutes - Fries in AirFryer, steak and beans on pan. The fries is just there for us to dip into the aioli sauce we bought a while ago. 🍽
It’s so much more satisfying to make your own dinner. Not only it’s a fraction of the price, you also pick up/ improve one of the most important skills in life: cooking!
Also very romantic to cook with someone you like imho 🥰

As a small business owner of New Malaysian Kitchen that runs in my family kitchen, it’s truly an honour to be considered as the best cooking class in Kuala Lumpur! 🇲🇾
I believe in working hard to find a work that we are passionate about. Then, work becomes so satisfying that you don’t think about retiring.
Working from home and teaching people from all around the world to cook Malaysian food like nasi lemak has been such a treat. I’m so grateful to everyone who help me make my dream job a reality.
Thank you and my guests for this recognition! ♥️
If you have a dream - don’t let naysayers stop you. Keep working on it! 💪
