Job Purpose
As an Accounting Services Associate, you will play a vital role in managing the Record-to-Report (RTR) process for Japan entities. You will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial data while partnering with regional and global stakeholders to support business excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
Ensure accurate processing of bank transactions, including interest and charges
Perform daily cash flow budgeting and monitoring
Maintain foreign exchange rates and perform revaluation activities
Prepare and deliver month-end and closing reports, including:
Ageing reports
Bank and intercompany reconciliations
Inventory, incentive, VAT, and forex revaluation reports
Prepare fixed asset registers and related postings
General Ledger & Month-End Close
Prepare and post general accounting journals, including:
Payroll, banking, accruals, deferrals, prepayments, inventory, and withholding tax entries
Perform detailed GL account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
Maintain General Ledger master data
Execute month-end close, open periods, and year-end balance carry-forward
Prepare monthly financial statements
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently
Update desktop procedures and documentation regularly
Support audit activities and ensure compliance
Lead customer billing and collections, resolving complex cases
Assist and coach junior team members; provide backup support when required
Gain deep understanding of entity processes and contribute to process improvements
Meet sector and stakeholder satisfaction targets
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related field
Fresh Graduates are encouraged to apply
RTR or Shared Services / MNC experience (Asia Pacific exposure preferred)
Japanese language proficiency is a must (JLPT N2 or above) to support Japan entities
Strong communication skills in English and Japanese
Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, formulas, XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP, data linking)
SAP experience is an advantage
Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high-quality output
