We officially signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Zebrafish Capital Singapore, at Impiana KLCC—witnessed by Mr. Azad Jasmi, CEO of Permodalan Kedah Berhad.

This isn't just a partnership. It's a 36-month commitment to transform how the world sees tropical oyster production.

We are pleased to share that Ocean Rich Resources (ORR) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Permodalan Kedah Berhad (PKB) to explore the development of the MERBOK OYSTER HUB.

The MERBOK OYSTER HUB is envisioned as an integrated, full-vertical tropical oyster ecosystem, covering upstream to downstream activities — from farming and depuration to quality control, market readiness, and industry development.

This collaboration aims to establish a Proof of Concept (POC) that validates scalable, safe, and reliable tropical oyster production, while positioning Merbok, Kedah as a future reference point for the blue economy.

Beyond infrastructure, the focus is on building a trusted system that supports food safety, supply consistency, and long-term industry growth through collaboration with state-backed partners.

We look forward to progressing this initiative with PKB and relevant stakeholders as the project moves forward.

"SHUCKING FOR FRIENDS"

Pada 7 April 2024, kami menganjurkan acara perintis yang berjaya untuk "Shucking for Friends," satu inisiatif baharu untuk meraikan keindahan tiram tropika kami yang diternak di ladang!
Perhimpunan intim ini mengumpulkan 6-8 tetamu untuk malam penghargaan tiram.
Kami membuka 50 ketul tiram segar yang diperolehi terus dari ladang kami di Sungai Petani, Kedah, menawarkan peluang untuk merasai kualiti tiram tempatan.

"Shucking for Friends" bertujuan untuk:

-Meningkatkan kesedaran: Mendidik masyarakat tentang kelazatan dan kelestarian tiram Malaysia.
-Bina perhubungan: mencipta ruang untuk peminat tiram berkumpul dan berkongsi minat mereka terhadap makanan laut yang unik ini.

Acara perintis ini merupakan satu kejayaan yang hebat, dan kami teruja untuk menjadikan "Shucking for Friends" sebagai aktiviti bulanan!

Nampak sama bukan?

Tetapi ini adalah dua spesis tiram yang berlainan. Saiz yang besar itu adalah spesis "Crassostrea Belcheri".

Manakala saiz yang kecil itu p**a adalah spesis "Crassostrea Iredalei".

Perbezaan antara kedua - dua spesis ini:

Crassostrea Belcheri
Mempunyai rasa yang lebih manis dan tekstur yang lebih "Chewy" atau lebih kenyal apabila dikunyah

Crassostrea Iredalei
Mempunyai rasa yang "Creamy" dan tekstur yang lebih lembut apabila dikunyah.
