quando falamos de profissoes, e necessario acrescentar o artigo a / an (um /uma) antes da profissao.

Invitation
A: I was wondering if you’d like to go out to dinner on Thursday.
B: I cannot go out on Thursday. I’m busy.
A: Are you busy on Friday?
B: Yes. I am busy on Friday.
A: That’s too bad. Are you busy next week?
B: Let me think. Yes, I am. But I’ll be free next Wednesday.
A: Perhaps you’d be interested in going out to dinner.
B: That sounds lovely.
A: Great! We’ll have dinner together next Wednesday

Useful sentences

I was wondering if you’d like to go out to dinner on Thursday = I want to know if you want to go out to dinner on Thursday.
I cannot go out on Thursday. I’m busy
Are you busy on Friday?
Yes. I am busy on Friday.
Are you busy next week?
Yes, I am. But I’ll be free next Wednesday.

Como fazer frases negativas com o verbo to be
Na nossa última aula sobre a gramática vimos os pronomes pessoais he, she e it.
Hoje para alem da fazer frases negativas, vamos ver os pronomes pessoas we, you e they ( estes pronomes estão no plural), logo:
Singular plural
I = eu ↔ we = nós
You = tu ↔ you = vocês
He = ele ↔ they = eles
She = ela ↔ they = elas
It = isto (Ø) ↔ they

Conforme me referi numa das aulas, o pronome ‘it’ na maioria dos casos não se traduz.
O verbo to be com os pronomes we, you e they toma a forma are ( são ; estão), logo:
We are = nós somos; nós estamos
You are = vocês são; vocês estão
They are = eles são; eles estão / elas são; elas estão.
They are = são; estão ( quando o sujeito não são pessoas na maioria dos casos).

Exemplo:
In the kitchen = na cozinha ; in the bedroom = no quarto
Your neighbours = teus visinhos; classmates = colegas da escola
Very hungry = muito com fome ; my parents = meus pais

We are your neighbours = nós somos teus visinhos
We are very hungry = nós estamos muito com fome

You are my neighbours = vocés são meus vizinhos
You are classmates = vocés são colegas da escola

They are classmates = eles/elas são colegas da escola
They are in the kitchen = eles/elas estão na cozinha

They are in the bedroom = estão no quarto (referindo aos livros por exemplo)

Frases negativas
Para fazermos frases negativas com o verbo to be, colocamos not depois da forma verbal ( am / is / are)
Exemplo:
singular
I am not at home in the morning = eu não estou em casa de manha
You are not at school in the evening = tu não estas na escola de noite.
He is not at work in the afternoon = ele não esta no serviço de tarde.
She is not in the kitchen = ela não esta na cozinha

plural

we are not classmates = nós não somos colegas da escola;
you are not my neighbours = vocês não são meus visinhos
they are not in the bedroom = eles não estão no quarto

Exercícios:
Faz frases na positiva e negative usando as seguintes expressões. Não repetir o sujeito nas tuas frases

in the same class = na mesma turma
very intelligent = muito inteligente
on holiday in Paris = de ferias em Paris
my favourite singers = meus cantores favoritos
on the floor = no chão
tired of you = cansado de ti ( cansados de vocês)

Hoje vamos falar dos pronomes he, she e it com o verbo to be
He = ele ( para sujeitos do masculino) ex: John, my father = ‘o’ meu pai
she = ela ( para sujeitos do feminino) ex: Monica, your mother = ‘a’ tua mãe
it = isto ( para sujeito que não é pessoa) ex: the dog = o cão, the book = o livro
nota: o sujeito it na maioria dos casos é mudo, isto é, não tem signif**ado.

Para os pronomes he, she e it o verbo to be toma a foma is.
Is = é ou está.
He is = ele é / ele está
She is = ela é / ela está
It is = isto é/ isto está, ou f**a apenas é /está
Exemplif**ando: hungry = com fome, tired = cansado/a
Interesting = interessante, your friend = ‘o’ teu amigo
My girfriend = a minha namorada, your best friend = ‘o’ teu melhor amigo
The dog = o cão the book = o livro

He is hungry = ele está com fome my father is hungry = o meu pai está com fome
He is your best friend = ele é teu melhor amigo John is your best friend = o John é teu melhor amigo

She is tired = ela está cansada. / Your mother is tired = a tua mãe está cansada
She is interesting = ela é interessante / Monica is my girlfriend = A monica é minha namorada
It is interesting = isto é interessante/ é interessante / the book is interesting = o livro é interessante
It is cold = isto está frio / está frio / the dog is cold = o cão está com frio.

Se você acompanhou a aula passada, pode agora fazer as tuas próprias frases usando o vocabulário que vimos nessa aula e acrescenta o seguinte vocabulário: tente não repetir o sujeito.
In the morning = de manhã
In the afternoon = de tarde
In the evening = de noite
