ECC goes to Oman 🇴🇲 ✈️

Over the past two weeks, ECC’s principal hydrogeologist visited the Umm as Samim sabkha to provide hydrogeological services to Mawarid Mining’s Potash Project in the Sultanate of Oman.

ECC, in collaboration with N-BiG and NEXUS, recently supported the NamPower Otjikoto Biomass Power Station project during a 2-day field visit. Our team delivered hands-on training in biomass quantification for the project’s fuel supply partners, strengthening local skills and promoting sustainable harvesting practices.

We also conducted field assessments on farms for future biomass harvesting, supporting potential inclusion in the NamPower FSC Group Scheme and informing site-specific management plans.

This engagement is a key step in aligning harvesting practices with sustainability standards, ensuring traceable, responsible biomass supply, and advancing NamPower’s environmental goals.

Me? I’m out at K5 Pit at sunrise, dodging wind gusts and collecting surface water. Before a full battle with, groundwater, potable water, effluent, dust fallout, directional dust sampling and EMP inspection audits. A full body workout with data on top.😅
Today marks 1.6 years of focused effort, committed to maintaining high environmental standards while supporting the scale and complexity of Andrada Mining.
