As we continue to offer solutions for sustainable water treatment in Namibia, we also look at the of this scarce resource, the systems used in accessing the , the technology and the easiness. Many people in rural areas in , and western (Peri-urban areas) use hand-dug wells as source water. They use BUCKET-TIED-TO-A- ROPE. This conventional method is risky(statistics show people fell in these wells) and too physical. Many hand-dug wells are left open and exposed to . In many parts, groundwater is also not fit for human consumption(saline or brackish) and conventional desalination is expensive to many. These are challenges that our team has been/ is working on to tackle.
Our efforts have been noticed locally and internationally and recently we have been shortlisted for Champion of the Year by Big 5 Construct South Africa held in Johannesburg on 27 June 2023.
Recently, in recognition of our efforts, we have been selected to pitch our solutions to the panel judges on 15 July 2023 for - category as the TOP 5. In any event, we are happy with our progress and water is a human right, which through technology, innovations and sustainable solutions we work for.
