Servus Bits & Pretzels 🥨

A delegation of StartUp Namibia staff and programme alumni attended the Bits&Pretzels conference in Munich, Germany this week. During the week-long exposure trip, they attended the 3 day conference, which was officially opened by THE Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.🔥 Among 2,500 startups, 1,000 investors, 500 speakers – we cannot deny that countless new connections were made. The conference consisted of top leaders in the startup ecosystem sharing their personal secrets to success, a massive startup exhibition area, startup pitches and was rounded off at the infamous Oktoberfest. 🙌🏼

During the Oktoberfest, the startups attended the “Table Captain Networking” sessions - face-to-face group meetings with handpicked experts from the German startup ecosystem. Yesterday, the delegation went on a curated ecosystem tour by MUNICH STARTUP where they visited various hubs and investors and they have an equally packed day today. We wish them lots of fun for their last day in Germany. 😁

Over the past weekend, StartUp Namibia & Turipamwe conclude the last sessions of our Digi-Eco 4 all design thinking workshop. This workshop brought together many players in the digital and technology ecosystem to brainstorm on how to progress the digital and tech space in Namibia through design thinking. 💭

Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. Involving five phases. Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. We found that this was a very initative, fun and effective way to solve problems and our participants most defiantly enjoyed it!😊

Thank you so much to everyone that came through and helped us find ways to progress the digital and tech ecosystem in Namibia.👏🏾
