We are excited to announce the upcoming Thank a Trucker Campaign that will be taking place in Mahikeng, South Africa on the 26th June 2026.

We will be honouring truck drivers whose dedication and commitment keep the Trans Kalahari Corridor moving.

Day 2 of Transport Evolution Africa.

We were honoured to receive a visit from members of the RSA National Committee Secretariat, whose presence and support at the stand underscored the importance of collaboration in advancing regional trade, transport, and economic development along the Trans Kalahari Corridor.

A continued interest from stakeholders across the transport and logistics sector reflects the growing recognition of the Corridor’s role in facilitating trade, improving connectivity, and fostering regional integration across the region.

Day 2 of the TKCMC Working Groups Meeting saw delegates from continue with intensive deliberations on key corridor matters aimed at enhancing trade facilitation, transport efficiency, and regional integration along the Trans Kalahari Corridor.

The various working groups reviewed progress on ongoing projects, discussed emerging challenges, and explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration among Member States. Discussions focused on advancing initiatives that support seamless movement of goods and people, improved border operations, infrastructure development, and corridor competitiveness.

As preparations continue for reporting to the Trans Kalahari Corridor Management Committee Meeting, delegates of the TKCMC working groups remain committed to developing practical recommendations that will contribute to the continued growth and success of the Trans Kalahari Corridor.

Day 1 of the TKCMC Working Group Meeting ended well, bringing together representatives from Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa to advance key initiatives along the Trans-Kalahari Corridor.

During the opening session, the South African TKCMC Chairman, Mr Segodi Mogotsi highlighted the corridor’s achievements, including the successful Cycling for the TKC campaign and ongoing infrastructure developments such as the widening of the N4 and upgrades at the Trans Kalahari, Mamuno and Pioneer Gate border posts.

The Botswana Co-Chair Mr Aurgur Malefho emphasized the importance of compliance with FMD protocols and welcomed South Africa’s interest in participation in the Trans-Kalahari Rail (TKR) project, noting the importance of an integrated road and rail corridor.

The Executive Director underscored the need for the agreed standards and commitments of the three Member States to translate into tangible outcomes, reaffirming the value of collaboration and active participation in driving corridor development.

With profound sadness, the Trans Kalahari Corridor Secretariat extends its heartfelt condolences to the people of Botswana, the Mogae family, friends, and loved ones on the passing of Former President Festus Gontebanye Mogae.

His legacy of leadership, wisdom, humility, and service to the nation will forever be remembered and celebrated.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
