WHEN LIFE FAVOURS YOU, DONT THINK OTHERS ARE LAZY
We've all been there - achieving success, receiving accolades, and basking in the admiration of others. It's a great feeling, isn't it? But, have you ever stopped to think about how you got there? Was it solely due to your hard work and determination, or were there other factors at play?
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that our successes are entirely our own doing. We might look around at others who are struggling and think, "Why can't they just work harder?" or "Don't they want to succeed as much as I do?" But, the truth is, life is full of variables, and success is often the result of a complex interplay between hard work, opportunity, privilege, and luck.
When life favours us, it's essential to recognize the role of privilege and luck in our success. We might have had access to better education, healthcare, or networking opportunities that others didn't have. We might have been born into a supportive family or had a mentor who guided us along the way. Whatever the case, it's crucial to acknowledge that our successes are not solely the result of our own efforts.
So, what can we do instead of judging others as lazy? Here are a few suggestions:
1. Practice empathy: Put yourself in others' shoes and try to understand their struggles. Recognize that everyone faces unique challenges and obstacles.
2. Acknowledge privilege: Be honest about the advantages you've had in life. Recognize how your privilege has contributed to your success.
3. Offer support: Instead of judging others, offer a helping hand. Share your knowledge, expertise, or resources with those who are struggling.
4. Celebrate others' successes: When others achieve success, celebrate their hard work and determination. Recognize that their successes are not a threat to your own.
